My wife and I bought a lot in GVP's 4 years ago (looking about in both North and South Carolina) and are finally building our dream retirement home now (2015). Why here? Because it is down-right beautiful. And i AM picky. And because i am convinced of the integrity of the developer Todd Black who came to fulfill his dreams of creating a community of homes adorned beautifully of wood within a gorgeous landscape. Read moreTodd never made excuse after excuse about the lake. He kept all stake holders updated as to the legal battles with the Army Corp of Engineers. Selling a lot over this issue was premature as we now have a stocked lake, sandy beach, beautiful pavilion, and walking trails through 'the' most beautiful community one could ever imagine. I saw a bumper with "I hear the mountains calling and I am going" on it. Wrong! I heard Grandview Peaks calling and am very happy that I am there. The drive through the community has views equal to a drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway, especially in the Fall. Thank you...

The developer and management do what they say and keep the common areas (roads, hiking trails, lake, waterfall area, community center, ...) nicely maintained while adding amenities every year. GVP is very centrally located, only 50 minutes from Asheville and less than 1.5 hours from Charlotte. We spend as much time up here as we can and love...
