I was honestly intimidated to go into Kassar -- I'm a bald white dude from Indiana . . . I have no Mediterranean ethnic experience. But a recipe I was trying required Paneer, & the only place the carries it in Morgantown WV, is Kassar. I took some time to look around the shop; lots of spices, general middle eastern items and apparel, and coolers for perishable items. I just love this place. I always stop and buy spices, sweets, rice and tea from there. If you want the best samosas around, they have really great fresh samosas. They have a nice selection of Indian and Mediterranean sweets. Tasty baklava fingers and gulab jamon. If you need anything from hair care, essential oils or herbal toothpastes, they have them. Mom and Pop business. INCREDIBLE selection of supplies (only place in all Morgantown where citric acid was easy to find in large quantities for cheese making). Everything was very fresh. I ordered food from their case to eat in, and oh my goodness. I normally don't like hummus, but this was by far the best hummus I've ever had. I thought I had had a falafel before, but their falafels were absolutely the best thing I had. Fresh, truly crispy breading, with the BEST flavor. I'm bringing my family here soon.
