Carlo’s Pizza & More — Restaurant in Morgantown

Really good cute little Italian place with an authentic Italian owner and chef. He will even come out and deliver some of the food and you can hear his accent still so you know it’s good food . This place is good to eat in or take takeout or to get delivered. Yes they offered DoorDash if you’re looking for that as well. We’ve tried almost every type of food here and we were not disappointed. My son even loved the place and their meatballs. They’re sausage and peppers pasta dish was very good. Their hoagies were very good. We had the steak and the Italian, but the Italian was definitely a little better. The pasta salad is exceptionally good. The bambino pizza is a little dry and flat and I got it for pick up one time in my son would not eat it. So we’re hoping that due to everything else being good here that the regular pizza is good and maybe the bambino they make different for kids. But besides that I couldn’t recommend this place for if you want an Italian authentic place...

So I just found out about this place from some friends and I was not disappointed. First to arrive was my soup, not too salty and not under salted either, which is a problem I find in a lot of soups: it was prefectly seasoned. Had the Zucchini planks and loaded fries for an appetizer. Fantastic, the Zucchini was cut nice and thin, the breading was nice and crispy and the red sauce was the best I've ever had from any restaurant. Loaded fries were pretty awesome too. Then came our entrees, I had the gnocchi with tomato sauce and my partner had a cold Italian sub. Loved it, favorite part was the pepperoncinis. I suspected he gnocchi was fresh and not frozen from the taste of it, and the same tomato sauce used for the Zucchini planks was on the gnocchi (secretly I was hoping for this as I ran out of the sauce for my Zucchini). Had hopes for this place. The menu is lacking options and some basic Italian staples are not available or just wont cut it. Pizza had potential but they just cant get it together! They keep changing the toppings of what I order and truly expect the customer to just accept food choice changes without saying anything.

Usually I just took the pizza and moved on (yes, this happens often - shame on me for ordering again!) , but today I finally said no and asked my pizza be remade. As a result the waitress was snippy and rude as if I was wrong for asking for the food to be something we would eat.

Today’s experience was so negative that I will not be coming back; something that could have been easily avoided by good old fashioned customer service.
