Update - I'm a bit frustrated with this SW as they seem to have issues replenishing their stock. I've noticed once I've purchased something, I'll return to the store days, weeks, months later and that same item is simply gone with the bare spot rearranged with something else. One quick example would be the GSI Outdoors Infinity Backpacker Mug that I had purchased well over a year ago. I watched their stock of 4 eventually deplete to 0 and they've never replenished. So odd.
Another gripe I've had since their store opening in April 2017 is it's not uncommon for me to find items hanging in the wrong spots with wrong description and pricing, and sometimes like today no correct spot at all. I spent lots of time researching a product online, comparing prices, only to find the price on the shelf was incorrect and in fact, wasn't for this product at all (slightly different item). I pointed it out to an associate (who was extremely polite, courteous) who was more than willing to look up the correct price. He then removed the incorrect sticker on the hook (now bare), replaced the item on said hook, then walked away. I get that it's an eyesore to have bare spots on the shelves and walls, but it's been very inconsistent and frustrating when the pricing is incorrect.
One of the things I praised SW for was the variety of their selection so I could get my hands-on. That's great but what happens when those items aren't replenished?
Original - Excellent selection and variety of camping, hunting, fishing gear. It's a mix of REI, Cabela's, & the like. Enough variety for hands-on & window shopping before you commit to purchase, which I like. Great customer service, who are...
Read morePaid $200 for a boat battery just a year ago.. Its never worked right..I didn't know I was supposed to be able to go for hours and it still be charged,Every time I used it all of the 4 times I couldn't go but a mile or so up the river and have to come back due to my battery life! Now I'll mention I'd bought my motor over $300,boat over $600,trailer over $700,boat seats over $60 each, oars $30 each, life jackets around $40 each ,anchor about $40 along with other fishing needs at the sportsman warehouse grand opening at this location!! The boat trailer lights were wired wrong inside the trailer, I took it back to have it fixed and the guy acted as if it was my problem not his! I said " I'd just bought this here a few hours ago and you will fix it or give me another!" .. They had NO other trailers there, so I had to leave it and go back next day.. Never was I offered a gift card or any discount even for my time or my hour travel each way from P.A.... And they gave me 2 different size oars that I didn't notice till I got a chance again to fish, not to mention I'd bought it all there for a little weekend fishing vacation i planned that I couldn't take due to the trailer, and when I did the transfer of the title I had to take the guy about 2 miles down the road and bring him back!! Now I'm finding out people with same boat and battery and motor can go all day on the river but I've never been able to go but a mile or 2.. I'm thinking the battery had a bad cell from the get go!! Now let's see what they say when I...
Read moreThe store was okay. That said, DO NOT sign up for their loyalty card. Since my sign-up a week ago I have had a flood of Sportsman's Warehouse e-mails in my Inbox. Today there were to e-mails. At 8:22 a.m. the subject line read "Save up to 40% on these top brands" and the second e-mail for today at 4:45 p.m. read "We ship to local firearms dealers." What kind of company imagines that when I wake up I have nothing to do and saving up to 40 percent makes my morning (I can save 100% by not buying anything)? Also, that I am still completely bored in the afternoon and I need to know that I can have Sportsman's warehouse ship things to gun dealers. My e-mails inbox is not there for you to abuse! Don't sign up for their loyalty program unless you really have nothing to do every day and advertisements help you to...
