Bought a washer and dryer during the Memorial Day Sale. The washer was delivered 3 weeks later and 4 hours after the time frame they said they'd arrive. I took the day off of work for no reason.
Next, the dryer took 2 more weeks and Best Buy said they'd be at my house between 10am and 1PM. At 7:30PM they arrived, but without the cords or plugs or vent. They said they'd have to come back in a few days with the rest because it was backordered.
Two days later I got an email saying my install was complete. It took a week to get them to return and hook up the dryer. That night the driver called at 9PM, a full 8 hours after I was told they'd be there saying "Hey man, I'm running late I can't make it tonight dude."
The next day after being hung up on twice I was told they'd include me in the route. The people to do the install were 1) A stock room guy and 2) a PC Sales person. Neither of them knew how to install the dryer and both tried reading the manual.
After running the dryer it smelled like rubber burning. I could not get anyone from Best Buy to arrive at my house to fix the issue and neither could the Geek Squad help desk....in fact every time I called the help number THEY couldn't even get ahold of anyone at the store.
I was told by the Geek Squad help number that they were at least issuing me a $100 giftcard for my trouble. 2 weeks later I got a $75 card. The manager "Ashley" told me she was going to remove $100 from the price of the washing machine as well...that never happened.
I also signed up for 18 month financing. The washer for some reason showed 18 but the dryer showed 12. This took 2 hours to solve on the phone.
I had to hire a repair man to come to my house and look at the dryer since Best Buy gave me the run around. He quickly figured out it was wired wrong, rewired it, re installed it, and it stopped smelling. That was when the washer started making weird noises. I decided to just get my money back. Best Buy refused saying I didn't buy Geek Squad Protection....even though it was 1 week from when my order was actually completed. After another day of phone calls I was told without Geek Squad they would not pick them up but they'd give me store credit if I lugged them to the store myself.
If I could give negative reviews I would. Not only was I lied to repeatedly but management refused to remedy the situation at all. I used to be a manager at Best Buy, I understand the majority of workers are moronic high schoolers...but I'd never treat a customer as bad as I was treated. I deserve Best Buy to come to my house, fix or swap my equipment, and receive hundreds in compensation since I used 3 days off work for absolutely no reason other than to...
Read moreUPDATE: 2 months laterâŚSo I have spent over 3 hours on 5 different phone calls to corporate and was told 4 times that requests were sent to the store owner and manager to handle this personally to avoid legal actions. Itâs been over a MONTH and NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON has reached out to me. These people are low level thieves with very little technological abilities or knowledge. Absolutely the worst in every way imaginable. You are an abject fool if you walk into this den of liars and expect to walk out happy.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Terrible company, place and terrible people. Everyone there is insufferably smug. Agents lie and say all devices are covered in their membership and they are not. They canât fix Apple to save their lives. The tech said certain work was done and never was. They lost all my data and ruined my hard drive. I had to ship my laptop to Longhorn in Texas where they fixed it in 30 minutes. Nothing Best Buy said that was wrong with my computer was actually wrong. Their diagnostics is the scam. I have been trying to get a refund via chat and, after 8 different chats, they kept telling me it was on the way. Itâs been over a month and there is still no record of it. The store refuses to help. It was a failure on all fronts. They did absolutely nothing but had no problem charging me for it. I would avoid unless you like being lied to by smug employees and the entire organization.
EDIT AFTER COMPANY REPLY :
See? Itâs always âreach out to us somewhere else so we can serve people better in the futureâ. Apparently that method doesnât work because the most simplest of tasks, next to doing absolutely nothing, is to simply refund a customerâs money. I did not receive the âbetter serviceâ. And itâs not even about money at this point, Aaron. Itâs about principle. You canât phone the store, the customer service is overseas and they have zero authority to do anything but tell you âthey understand and are sorryâ. Because of my experience at this location, I had to close my business and let 8 people go. I have not run into ONE associate of Best Buy that was not smug, not condescending or minimally effective. I now have to seek legal action if I want to be heard which is now how I am spending my afternoon. When I returned to the store with my concerns I was just ignored, then shut down and told to call a number that went nowhere or chat with customer service, which I did 7 times thus far and they ALL lied to me saying they would âescalateâ my case to a âconcern teamâ. Which, after 6 times I was told that, each agent told me it was never done. The whole world is tired of being lied to.
I was offered a $26 refund....
Read moreI purchased a refrigerator and had it delivered and installed. I was at work at the time of delivery. My girlfriend a short time later called me at work saying the delivery team wanted her to remove a railing in our 36" stairway to deliver a 30" refrigerator. I asked my girlfriend to remove it and she has no handyman skills. After that I asked her to give the delivery guys $30 to mabey motivate them to get everything done correctly. Fridge was now in. An hour later my girlfriend calls me 40 minutes away at work to tell me the fridge is leaking all over the kitchen floor. A couple of calls and no response from anyone. The tech calls me and I told him I was on my way home and then asked me to diagnose the problem. So no help. When I arrived at home water was all over the floor so I pulled it out and the leak was coming out of the refridgerator. I then got in my car and drove to best buy to address my concern. Upon arriving I ran into Scott the store manager. I told him and a male associate the situation at my home. When I told him the delivery guys also f%$@ed up my countertops he told me to refrain from those words because there were children in the store. I didn't see any. He used a very aggressive tone and angered facial feature when saying this to me. Then did absolutely nothing to help my situation and said that a call center would call me in 48 hours. So with a fridge still leaking a my kitchen taken hostage over this situation I was left to fend for myself. This man would not have a conversation with me and treated me like a lower life form. I have bought mountains of products from best buy and this is how I'm shown appreciation. This is not proper management conduct and I don't know if I can bring myself to buy another thing from this company after this experience. Keep in mind I bought this through financing so I'm a citizen with good credit. So my next step is the better business bureau and the I'm going to file a complaint with the state attorney general. If this doesn't resolve the issue then I will have to get my family attorney involved to get my house fixed and...
