Workout Anytime Morristown — Local services in Morristown

I have been coming to this gym for about 7 months. I can say that this gym has provided the basics that I’ve needed on my fitness/weight loss journey & I have seen a lot of progress BUT there are several things that could be improved upon.

When equipment breaks, it takes months for it to get fixed/replaced. The back/glute hyperextension machine has been broken since June, and my gym partner & I used that one weekly before it broke. There has been other machines broken for months, but this is the one that I have really missed in my workout routine.

Nobody wipes down machines before PR after use! There is maybe 2 other people that I see regularly wiping things down. This is a serious infection control issue. I don’t expect staff to go around reprimanding people, but maybe just put up some signage to encourage members to wipe things down.

The selection of equipment is BARE MINIMUM. On leg days, I prefer to go to a different location because this location is really lacking in equipment for lower body. The other location about 15 miles away offers a hip thrust machine, step up boxes, hack squat machine, split squat pad/stand, AND their back/glute hyperextension is in working order!

You have to scavenge for weights! The plates are always scattered throughout the gym, and there isn’t enough to go around when the gym is busy in the evenings.

THE FANS ARE USELESS! They are residential size fans… they do nothing for a large area. You can not feel air flow whatsoever. This makes working out miserable on hot days.

BOTTOM LINE- this gym needs some work. I am seriously considering switching to a different gym completely because going to the other location is sort of out of my way. There are several other options...

When I signed up I was excited & the boy with curly hair tricked me. He told me they would not take money out of my account. It was five to sign up, he told me it’s $56 for the next payment, & told me I could pay with cash. I’m glad I didn’t use a card with consistent money for him to put in the computer. He told me it’s mandatory in case something gets broken. Never once did he mention that they would take $164 the first month, $176 the second month, and $194 something in December. So December 12, Jan 3,& then again on the 11th they tried to take out over 150 bucks for their membership. When I went back to ask him, the younger boy with curly hairs told me he’s the manager and I signed a contract. I said yes I know but he never explained or showed me anything about taking that much money. He actually told me that they would not take money out. I called him a liar & asked him to remove me from his computer & take my card information off that I didn’t sign up for that & he still denied it. I had to go immediately to have the card deactivated to make sure he can’t keep doing that. I will never go back and I will inform everyone I see about how they lie & steal money without explaining to people what will happen. Planet fitness is where it’s at if you want a membership. It’s easier & the people don’t lie over there. It’s cheaper & more convenient. Especially for single parents that want to better their lives without being manipulated. I am still looking for the owner of 24 hour workout center or corp bc I’m probably going to sue. I got my proof too. Good thing I love to...

I'm very disappointed. I've kept this to myself for a long while, as I started working out here about 6 months ago. I have been back and forth through all of these gyms as I go to the gym closest the job I am working on. It seems that this gym, in particular, has a problem with not only keeping things clean and trash picked up. There is also a big issue with not enforcing the weight-racking rules as well as wiping down equipment after use.. this could easy lead to staff infections for everyone. These are issues, but today I found a bigger one.. I am a very strong 30 y/o and my back aches after the support bar here fell toward me as I was going down to rest the weight. If this would have happened to an older or less strong person, there may have been a major injury. I will change my review after these reoccurring problems are ADDRESSED. And no.. I don't mean by just throwing an "out of order" sign on it for the next few months as seems to be the way these machines are...
