My wife and I have been shopping at Food Lion for over a year. Unfortunately, on our recent visit on Sunday morning, we encountered an unpleasant situation with the front end cashier.
We approached the self-checkout with only 9 items as I have limited mobility and using the self-checkout can be difficult.
Instead of being helpful, the cashier became rude and argumentative. As mind blowing her attitude was, we chalked it up as she was simply unhappy about working on a beautiful Sunday and took it out on us by deliberately trying to disrupt our morning.
Thankfully, this experience didn't ruin our day. We drove to Wegmans just a few minutes away and had a positive shopping experience there. The staff at Wegmans are always friendly and professional, unlike our experience at Food Lion.
This incident highlights the importance of proper customer service training for Food Lion staff. Cashiers should be equipped to handle situations like ours with courtesy and understanding, regardless of the circumstances.

Read moreNot my go-to place the staff are not very nice I was trying to ask a simple question and was told that I couldn't ask the particular employee because he was not on the clock which I completely understand if he cannot show me but if I ask you if you know if there's something in the store they can politely tell me hey we do carry it but because I'm on break I cannot show you I would have been okay with that but instead he said he couldn't even answer that question which really makes me mad as a parent as a customer it just boils my skin. So I do not go to the store particularly because I believe wholeheartedly if you are an employee of any location you should be kind to all your customers whether you're on the clock or not. I do believe wholeheartedly that if you are on break that you do not need to show the customer where an item is but be polite about it I don't appreciate people being rude just because they're not on the clock so I do not come to this...
Read moreOn, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 somewhere between 5:10 PM and 6:20 PM, a Food Lion customer rammed their shopping cart into the passenger side door of my car. Mind you, my car was parked as far from the Food Lion entrance and the cart collectors as one could get. Someone maliciously damaged my car. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for causing damage to my car. It just goes to show how kind and considerate folks can be. As soon as I saw the damage, I walked to the Food Lion and asked to speak with the manager to get the video footage to identify the mean spirited individual. Unfortunately, the person got away with the vandalism because the cameras don't have full coverage of the parking lot. And, it's too bad that the Food Lion store manager on duty didn't really care. Lesson learned: folks really are as nasty as they seem and don't have any respect for someone else's property. Beware when you park in that parking lot....
