UPDATE: With the owners response, I guess it's okay to call kids names if you are having a bad day. He should take his new be a decent human being sign to heart.
Families beware, I took my wife and kids to enjoy the day at Flippo's for my son's birthday. We'd had such great times there as a kid and were looking forward to seeing it again. The owner (tall bald guy) at first was friendly, but that changed within the first three minutes. The quick switch in his demeanor was rather concerning. We were standing at the counter to pay for the batting cages, wearing our masks as requested per the sign on the window when he said in a serious tone, "You and your family are weirding me out with your masks and sunglasses. I can't do business with you." We were so appalled and surprised. I wish he was joking. Isn't this a pandemic and are we not at the beach? As my family was walking out the door he said, "There goes a bunch of winners." Seriously, who says that to children, especially being the owner of a family establishment? Very sad! My wife and I were so disappointed in the return of Flippo's not only because of the experience, but it wasn't that great inside either. Needless to say, we will not be returning and hopefully no one else will have...
Read moreWent for a birthday party on Saturday with my son. Loved it so much I brought the whole family back today. This is an amazing community space that caters to people of all ages. The price to use the batting cages is generously fair considering you have access to the whole place and a variety of other games. I’m a fan of the “per time” rather than “per person” model you find most places. We did not get anything from the snack bar but it was nice to know it was there if we did need anything. I did see prices for the snack bar and, like the rest of the operation, are fair and far less expensive that most other places in a tourist town.
The owner and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. Extra points for not only being a place for kids to hang out but employing teenagers from the community.
In summary- Fair price for what you get- variety of things to do under one roof. Friendly and helpful staff. A REAL community space, by the people and for the people. We will be back. You should go there if you like fun and supporting local businesses that support other...
Read moreI ordered hand dipped ice cream $3, burger $10 & thin crispy fries $4. Everything was excellent although I missed onions on the burger. Portion was generous. The place was clean & spacious inside & outside with many FREE games aside from the impressive batting cages, such as ping pong, foosball, Cornhole, jinga, connect 4. Pool table was $.50 per game.
I was glad I was offered to taste the peanut butter beer because it sounded strange but surprisingly👍 it was very good. HUGE plus, it's doggy-friendly. There were water bowls & my fur-son got a free treat :) The owner was personable, humble and hospitable. It's a comfortable place to relax alone or have fun with...
