So there I am, living my best life, strolling through the Aldi finds, soaking in the quiet vibes, thinking, “Wow, what a peaceful time to shop… where is everyone?” Browsed cheeses like a sommelier, compared wines like I had a degree in grape-ology, and truly thought I cracked the code to the perfect shopping hour.

Plot twist: THEY HAD BEEN CLOSED FOR A WHILE. Yep. Just casually trespassing with a cart full of brie.

Instead of calling the cops or pelting me with day-old ciabatta, Al (cashier? manager? angel in an Aldi shirt?) and her equally fabulous coworker treated me like a VIP lost in the time-space-Aldi continuum. Kind, hilarious, and truly made my oopsie into one of the best shopping experiences I’ve had in a minute

My wife and I went on opening day. It is so refreshing to finally have another choice other than Walmart or Kroger to get our groceries.
