Waffle House — Restaurant in Mount Dora

My daughter was hired to work at the Waffle House at location listed above. She had her first interview on Friday January 6, 2017 at 2:30 pm. She interviewed with a employee name Tracie. My daughter was in the interview for about 15 minutes. When the interview was over, Tracie told her to come back that Sunday January 8 at 2:30pm to speak with the owner. I brought my daughter back on that day, and she met with a Shift Manager named C.J. He did a follow up interview, and told my daughter she had to go to orientation at the Waffle House in Apopka. My daughter went to the orientation, when she got there she was asked for a ticket, which she didnt have, then they called the Mount Dora location and they said since she was working the door, she didnt have to attend orientation. So she had to come back home, then she called back to the Mount Dora location and they told her to come into work at 7am today(January 14, 2017) to fill out papers and start working. I dropped my daughter off at 6:45 am. When she went inside, she asked for Tracie, and was told to sit down and wait for her. When Tracie passed by her, she only said good morning, and went to the back. My daughter sat there for almost 30 minutes, before she called me to come pick her up. She said after speaking with Tracie, Tracie told her she was supposed to go over the application with CJ. Im not sure what happened but basically my daughter was hired and just let to sit there. I need an explanation. Why would they just leave my daughter sitting there like that, she just turned 18, and this was her first official job. If the waitress would relay to the cook how you told her how you wanted your food, it would be a good place to eat. My wife and I like our hash browns,scattered well done on both sides No Raw Potatoes potato chip, burn them no raw potatoes.We wait an Ungodly long time to get our order. Guess what our hash browns perfect on top, but underneath you guess it raw taters. I'll take them back for a recook. I said oh no, I ordered my food to come to us hot and ready to eat. I know what I have told about Waffle House policy, Nothing goes back on the grill Start from scratch again. Next time this happens, I will politely get up and walk out. We go to numerous Waffle House through out the southeast, Nothing like this has ever been a problem ever. And this is not the first occurrence at this location. Awesome service, great staff! We eat here regularly and love the food and service. BEST BACON 🥓 in the world!!! I’m a Waffle House fan, and we eat at Leesburg location often as well, great there too!!!

Also, very pleased to see how the Mt Dora Waffle House Staff handled a “To Go” customer that took it upon themselves to sit in a booth with their “To Go” order. It was a very busy morning, lots of people waiting for a table (or a chair), when the lady had her “To Go” order in her hand and another person came in she must have been waiting for and then they walked in front of other “dine-in” waiting customers and sat in a freshly cleaned booth. The Waffle House staff was very nice and courteous explaining to the customers that they have a “To Go” order and they cannot sit at a table for Dine-in customers. I think every person in the restaurant understands that simple concept, but the “To Go” customer made a bit of a stink, and then finally left.
