China Wok — Restaurant in Mount Dora

I've tried a couple of the takeout Chinese places in the area and this is my favorite so far.

I've ordered from them maybe half a dozen times in the last year. I always order at the counter, for takeout. I buy stuff next door for my pets so it's convenient because I can place my order, then shop for my pet needs, and by the time I'm done my food is ready.

Every single time I've been in there whoever has been at the counter has been extremely pleasant and courteous and smiling. Most of the time the food is ready in 10 minutes or less which is fantastic.

It's always been consistent and I enjoy it. Look is it the best Chinese food I've ever had? Of course not. The five stars isn't in comparison to all of the Chinese restaurants in the world, it's in comparison to what we have in the area.

I probably would have given them four stars, but if I had it would have actually dropped their rating and I don't think that's fair because it's my favorite place to go in the area. So five...

Wanted something different for Christmas dinner. Saw good reviews on this place and decided to give them a try. Very pleased to see I could order online via their website. Nice to be able to really take my time to look through their menu. Their menu is also very well put together so it's easy to find what they offer. Placed the order online and called to make sure they received it. They were receiving it as we spoke and said it would be ready at the requested time. There was a very small wait at the restaurant. Very friendly staff and they made sure I had my entire order with condiments before I left. The food (pepper steak w/onion, boneless spareribs, crispy duck and seafood delight) was DELICIOUS and with nice portions. Everything was cooked just right and the ingredients tasted fresh. So I've been ordering here for YEARs with my grandmother with the same order: General Tso combo and Veggie Lo Mien. The owner started recognizing me and our order and has been such a wonderful person to interact with every time I go for grandma and I's food. Sadly, my grandmother passed away and I've altered my order since. Tonight there was a mixup with my order being that another person ordered the same exact thing my grandmother and I would always order! The owner was quick to correct this and she was so kind when I explained that grandma passed away, so my order might be a little different from now on. It means soooo much to me that she remember's me and my grandmother's order though. Even through tonight's mix up, it brought me so much joy to be reminded of my grandmother and how much we both have enjoyed getting...
