Kroger is more expensive than most other places, including Walmart. I try to shop there because of the 1)quality of some of their products, 2)better customer service, and 3)faster checkouts than Walmart. This is how I justify the higher prices and better experience. Lately, this particular location is failing on 2/3 of my reasons why I pay their more.
Quality of products? Check.
Customer service? Some employees look beat down, unhappy and unfilled in their work and purpose. I've found them to be unhappy to help and only a few are eager to make your visit a good one.
Faster checkouts? Nope. One human line open and seven self-service (with all of them being on the north side of the store!) checkouts. Since when do I need to check myself out when I'm spending $200 on my cart? Why aren't there more human checkouts? And, because there aren't more full service checkouts, people (who shouldn't even be using an iPhone) are trying to self-check out a cart full of stuff. This backs up those lines, and then the whole process falls down. Now I'm waiting for 20 mins to spend my money (more time than it took me to shop) when Kroger spent millions on advertising to get customers like me into the door. On this day, I dumped the cart and left - a $300 loss for Kroger. Ended up grocery shopping at Walmart that week- where at least the expectations are low and I'm saving a few bucks. Here's the thing - you want to charge more money for national brands? You want to draw people to your store? Then walk the walk as a premium grocer. Or don't charge me premium prices and think Walmart service is "good enough". Give us something more to justify...
Read moreI've never been so frustrated with clicklist. Called customer support twice. I was going to get groceries at noon today the website gave me an error message and an 800 number to call luckily the lady on the other end was polite and spoke English however I was told we fixed the error on our end try again in an hour. Tried again in an hour and it said my card was declined. I double checked funds funds were available. Tried updating my card info thinking maybe I typed a letter or number off... website says failed to update your payment info... ok I'll just add a different card at this point... tried to add a new card and website says failed to update your payment info. I called the store as I use clicklist here often and he said sorry theres nothing I can do at store level you have to call the 800 number back... fml gotta wait on hold for at least a half an hour again before i talk to someone. Talk to another polite English speaking person and they inform me that i made to many attempts to buy groceries while the website had the error the first time and now it wont allow me to process my order. She says give it 24 hours and try again... so no groceries today unless I want to go out and face the crowds of people. Im really let down here kroger up to this point we have bought our groceries almost exclusively on clicklist. Might be checking out...
Read moreI was excited to come to Mount orab Kroger Saturday morning because I never get to come out here and they have a lot of stuff, but that turned to major disappointment quickly, I went to the deli to get one item, some ham, despite four people standing around doing nothing only one person was working and they were very slow. One of the others only helped me when a manager said "hey go help him he's been standing there for a while" which was 7 minutes. When I went to check out, there was only one cashier, with a line of full overflowing carts to the middle of the store, employees walking around everywhere but not helping out, cashier was noticeably taking his time, I heard a manager say someone was on break but that still is excusable, somebody should have covered her. I had to rebag basically my entire order, because the bagger had no clue what he was doing, He put chemicals with frozen food among other things, I came back 10 to 15 minutes later, and to my shock there was four cashiers...
