After 17 years of marriage, I was finally able to purchase the matching wedding band to my wife’s Engagement ring. I also wanted to get the engagement ring sized up for a better fit. I contacted the Jeweler that originally sold me the engagement ring and they suggested I ship them the engagement ring and they will work with Simon G (manufacture) to have the E. ring sized correctly and then have the new band built to match. I struggled with the idea of sending the ring in the mail but finally decided the investment was worth it. I shipped it. After delivery delays of over 2 weeks and then 2-3 days of everyone assuming the ring was lost the jeweler had it. They sent the ring off to the manufacture to have the ring sized and built as planned. Multiple weeks later I get an email saying the rings are in and look amazing. I settle the bill and the jeweler ships the rings to me. When they arrive, the engagement ring is still the original size, and the new ring has now been built to match vs. built to the agreed to size… I now have 2 rings that don’t fit and am out a couple grand. When I reached out to the original jeweler, they suggested I ship the rings back to them and they will do the resizing for us without any remorse. My wife and I after the mailing issue and the fact they didn’t get the work done correctly the first time decided not to go with them. I reached out to a local jeweler that said they could resize the rings for us… I dropped them off… 1 month later they call me to tell me they are not willing to do the work and I need to come get them. At this point my wife is mad at the entire situation and tells me to stop, she will try to “make” them fit. Another month goes by and she is still upset. At this point I contact David Alexander at Diamonds Direct. I tell him the story and he is nothing but supportive. He takes the rings, contacts Simon G and helps to negotiate the timing for an expedited resize of both rings by the manufacture. My husband and I popped into Diamond’s Direct in Mount Pleasant and were greeted right at the door by Bo! ...and wow, he was amazing from the very start! I showed him my elongated cushion MOISSANITE engagement ring that I had bought online (from another retailer) and explained how I felt like it looked a little cloudy. I asked him if it was possible to see a diamond in a similar size to compare.

Bo measured my moissanite stone and immediately went to the back to see what he could find. Just a few minutes later, he came out with the most gorgeous elongated cushion brilliant diamond in the exact same size as my moissanite! When I held them side by side, I knew instantly that I was going to buy it!!! It was so much clearer and sooooo much more sparkly (see photo below)!

Bo didn’t stop there though. He told me he’d check Diamonds Direct’s inventory to see if there were any other elongated cushions around the same size and even better quality that he could have mailed to the Mt P store so I could have one other option. About a week later, he called to let me know the other diamond had arrived and invited me back to see them both. That extra effort meant so much! We ended up choosing the second diamond he found—10.4 x 7.5 x 5, 3.09 carats, E color, VS1—and it’s absolutely stunning!!!

Once we’d chosen the diamond, Bo helped me figure out next steps. I was originally just going to have the diamond set into my old moissanite ring, but my husband encouraged me to create a brand new setting that looked identical - just with diamonds instead of moissanite on the band. Bo handled everything! He sent my original ring to the design team, kept me updated every step of the way, and made sure all my little tweaks were perfectly communicated.

Four and a half weeks later, my new ring was ready!! ... And it’s even better than I dreamed! I’m completely obsessed! Bo was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited for us the entire way through. He made what could’ve been a stressful process so fun and soooo easy!
