Besides the location, there's not much else to offer. Cleanliness was questionable. The TV remote was dirty with dried food stuck in between the buttons. The office chair was broken and I had to sit on pillows to sit high enough to work at the desk. The walls were very thin and I could hear the TV from the room next door. The breakfast was underwhelming with rotten bananas, old apples, and no milk. I had to ask for coffee to be refilled at breakfast and there was no coffee available after breakfast hours. I use the Hilton app to access the digital key and on 8:30am the day I was supposed to check out I was locked out of my room. The app said I checked out when I have not checked out yet. I went back down to the front desk to see if they could reactivate my key on the app and there was no one at the front desk. I waited awhile until an employee came to the desk. Finally someone came over and asked if I wanted a key card, but they wouldn't give me the key without seeing an ID. I stated I don't have my ID because it's in my room that I've been locked out of. She asked if I had a picture of my ID on my phone and I said I do not. She seemed annoyed and asked, "You're not going to check?" I said I know I don't have a picture of my ID on my phone. The employee said she will meet me at the room with a key to let me in and I'll have to show my ID when I get to the room. I understand she was just following policy but the way she handled the situation made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. I already felt like I was not a valued customer/guest and then I was locked out of my room before check out time with no apology. I do not recommend staying here and I will not stay here in the future. There are plenty of other hotels in Mt. Pleasant with a good location that will provide...
Read moreI stay at a lot of Home2 Suites properties. This one is the worst so far. It is a franchise of OTO Development and not a Hilton managed property. ||First of all, I chose my room on the app. On arrival, I was given a different room. No explanation. Digital key did not work. I was required to go through the entire check-in process, including rerunning my credit card, which is already on file on the reservation and in my Hilton account. Was asked if I have pets, when I clearly don't and do not have anything in my profile about pets. Girl at the front desk was uppity and smug.||Parking at this property is atrocious. About a dozen spaces near the front entrance. The majority of the parking is behind the building or by the storage units next door, requiring guests to walk all the way around to the front to check in. Clearly, no thought was put into making this property user friendly. It's a cash cow.||Like other reviewers, I had minimal hot water and very low water pressure. The gigantic sliding bathroom door is ridiculous. The layout of lighting in the room is inefficient - no light between the beds.||I was lucky enough to spend a Saturday night along with an entire little league baseball team, who completely took over the lobby area until late and then ran up and down my hall until midnight. Guests directly above stomped around until after 1 AM, dropping things on the floor and being generally annoying. Walls and ceilings paper thin.||Breakfast was as described in other reviews - minimal and barely available. I arrived|15 minutes before the end of the breakfast schedule, and most of the food was already gone and staff were actively removing the remaining items, practically yanking the last bagel out of my hand. ||Clearly, this property values profit over...
Read moreMy partner, my 12yo daughter, our dog and myself stayed here. We booked 2 nights 12/30-1/1. When we arrived, we checked in and headed up to our room. I unlocked the door, entered, and found a man standing, startled, fixing his shirt with a confused stare who asked me, “did they rent out this room?” It all happened very quickly, I was bewildered and concerned until my eyes reached his shirt and realized he was an employee. He proceeded to tell us that the fridge, A/C, and toilet were not functioning properly in that room. Again, we kind of stood there in silence, confused. I said OK but I didn’t want to turn around for obvious safety reasons. My family backed out and that’s when we all sort of exited, still really confused. He rushed down the hall as he offered to fix this and get us another room. I stayed put with my daughter while my partner headed down to the reception. He was apologetic and quick to switch the room. I’m still in complete bewilderment by this. The room was pitch black dark and he stood up from the sofa area, was literally in between the ottoman and the sofa, fixing his shirt… maybe took a nap? I really am not hating and I would have dismissed the review had a manager called us as they were supposed to upon our check out. My partner told the guest service agent about the issue and needing to speak to a manager. But we bever got a call. So, maybe this will catch a managers attention. And someone, please address William about snoozing in the rooms. It really could have been a much more serious scenario, even our dog was confused on whether to react or greet this rather calm man standing in front of us. Really ruined the entire...
