Extra Space Storage — Local services in Mount Pleasant

Worst storage facility company I have ever dealt with. I moved into one of their facilities a year ago and had issues; to make it worse there was no manager on site because they were off-site to assist another property. Fast forward to this year I moved and only chose the location I did because it is steps away from where I live. I made the mistake of convenience over quality that is for sure. I stopped in two days prior to confirm my reservation and was told it was in the system and ok. The day of the move in I show up and there is nobody in the office and I did not receive my gate code. I call and it turns out I was not fully “moved in” and there is no actual manager at this location and there has not been for three years. It takes me another 30 minutes to complete another reservation over the phone and get into the unit after being told I can wait until 1 when the temp manger gets there (this is 10 am). Once would have been maybe a one off problem but twice is a systematic problem. They are clearly trying to cut costs by keeping their staffing levels at a razor thin low mark. This company is terrible and if you can I would not do...

I had a very friendly employee help me get some units and allowed me to park my Uhaul overnight and even recommend movers to unload into my units the next day since it was Sunday. She was great and was the reason I picked this location and drove 8 hours to reach. Then the manager calls me the next morning and says he was the only employee working and he didn’t authorize it lol. Then he says I need to move it asap from a gravel lot that is used for no other purpose. It didn’t make any sense to treat a customer like this before even speaking to his employee. The manager was extremely rude to me and his own employee. I was very polite but did cancel my units. I went to Go Store It instead which was cheaper, friendlier, and had better facilities....

I've had stuff stored here for a couple years now. It has security code gate access which is great. Everyone usually tries to park out of the way so you can always get down a row to your specific unit. They offer a free van (you do have to pay for gas of course) to help you move into the unit which is a huge plus!

My only negative is that we moved from a smaller unit to a larger one, and the rubber seal on the bottom of the door is missing, and the door is pretty difficult to open. But overall the facility worked perfectly for what was needed!
