Dirty with a side of expensive, but okay tasting. We tried this place for the first time last Saturday. It was between lunch and dinner so the place wasn't busy. All things considered, isn't the taste of the food the primary thing to judge on? Well, there comes a point where price, cleanliness, and service come into play. As we walked in, we saw a lizard on the curtains. This drew us closer in to see it (from outside) and where we noticed how dirty the curtains were. The free chips were good, the salsa was not bad but needed some more flavor (easily gained by adding salt). I thought the prices were too high for us to each order something (since we weren't that hungry) so we ordered some nachos with beef, and 1/2 order of guacamole. Both were tasty. Cans of soda for $2.00 (no refills) and my son's child lemonade at $2.50 were spendy, but located between Mt. P and Sullivan's Island, I suppose they can charge anything they want. The service included someone saying from across the room to sit anywhere. A woman dropped off chips/salsa. A guy took our order, dropped off food, brought check. If they have dessert, we didn't have that opportunity. Then, after awhile it finally became clear that we had to pay at the counter. I was happy enough with the food, but not the service, prices, nor cleanliness. I won't be going back. ...
Read moreParking was difficult; especially with the adjacent volleyball court, and the restaurant was very loud.
Some members of our party ordered steak entrees, which they said was good (the steak). However, the chicken and steak chimichangas were weird: cheese, lettuce, and sour cream INSIDE the tortilla and deep fried - the texture was not enjoyable.
The chicken tacos were OK and very small. The rice was awful: no flavor and well undercooked. The beans were flavorless, too.
The service was fine I suppose; except the waiter brought out a pitcher of water and placed it on the table instead of refilling cups of those who ordered water.
One member of our party ordered steak tacos, which came out from the kitchen several minutes before the rest of our food came out. Their food was cold by the time the rest of us received our orders.
Overall, the food didn't taste authentic. This was our first experience with this restaurant, and it will...
Read moreI came here with my girlfriend on vacation, and we had high hopes with a 4.1 star. At 5 on a wendsday night, we were one of maybe 4 tables in the whole restaurant. We ordered a small queso and strawberry margarita with chips and salsa. The chips were too thick and mostly burnt. The queso was clearly out of a can, and our margarita tasted like straight strawberry puree, no liquor whatsoever. At the end, our server had the audacity to say, "You can at least order some togo food. Are you not going to spend any more money?" Then, when I asked him to repeat what he had said, he just said never mind, then got another server to bring out the check and payment form. When we asked the new server what the last guys name was, he lied and not very well.
Prior to that. I was going to tip 10 on a 13 dollar check for taking up his section. This is absolutely ridiculous. Don't waste your money here on crappy food and...
