I was looking for a firm to help me design a theater setup for the media room in my home. After evaluating several vendors, I ultimately chose Erik and the Wire Monkeys team due to their responsiveness, knowledge and impressive portfolio of clients– both commercial and residential.

From our first conversation, Erik was consultative and ensured I was getting the best bang for my buck by pushing me away from products I didn’t need and helping design a setup and system that met and exceeded all my expectations. Once the design and initial conversations we’re complete, Eric and his team completed the installation on time all while the Charleston and surrounding areas were impacted by Hurricane Matthew. They arrived on time, completed the work each day and even cleaned and vacuumed up the work areas before leaving.

The system Erik and team designed for me includes a 5.1 Monitor Audio speaker system, NAD AV receiver, Sony Projector and Screen Innovations Projector screen. We were transitioning a relative from hospital/rehabilitation to an assisted living facility and called Wire Monkeys to mount a television in the new apartment and to hook it, another television, and a computer up to the assisted living facility's cable system. Because we live out of state from South Carolina, we asked Mr. Riggs, the owner, to do the work while we were in town. He agreed and confirmed on line and in person (when he stopped by to assess the tasks) that he would get the job done. But he did not show up as he had confirmed and when we queried why not, he shrugged off the situation and suggested we call on another company. Now our relative finds herself in a new housing arrangement without either television or a computer to occupy her time while we work from out of state to identify another vendor to take on the job.. To sum up, we found Mr. Riggs' actions to be the essence of bad business practices, as well as a cavalier attitude to the needs of someone going through a difficult transition to assisted living.

And, now the owner has responded that he has reached out to us but he has not heard back. Not true. He sent us an email and we responded. Did he give us the courtesy of a personal phone call at anytime? The answer is no. We left a minimum of two voicemails for him and heard not a word in reply.
