Temple Theatre — Local services in Mount Pleasant

Went to go see the Minecraft movie for my brothers birthday, we waited in line out in the cold starting at 6:50 we finally got inside and bought our tickets at 7:20. We asked the young man who sold us the tickets if the upstairs was open for seating because there were people everywhere and it didn’t look like enough seats. He told us that the upstairs is not open and they do not seat anyone up there. We continue on our way inside and stand in line to get our popcorn and drinks, while waiting there is a group of teenagers running up and down the stairs to each balcony counting how many seats there were for all of their friends (half of them being the kids working at the time). When I get to the counter for popcorn I ask another worker (all children) if there is really no seating upstairs and he says well there is but it’s reserved, the 21+ balcony’s were reserved for the teenage workers and their friends… interesting. When I finally get my drink, didn’t get my popcorn because the kids were playing around in the machine and were not wearing gloves or washing their hands while touching ice buckets, tickets, money, etc and then touched everyone’s popcorn to serve it to them. Yuck! When we went to go try to find a seat they told us there were no more seats and at this point I had enough and asked if there was any manager or adult I can talk to for a refund the young man that sold us the tickets said yes and said he would get them. He came back with movie tickets and said this is your refund I said no I paid money not with movie tickets and he said these were worth the same amount. I told him it is very unprofessional for him to say that the upstairs is closed but let his friends run up and down them saving seats and it was ridiculous that they kept taking peoples money when they had no where for people to sit and watch the movie they paid for. And to not get a refund after all of that, insanely unprofessional and I cannot believe you are okay letting children run this entire place with zero supervision. Mount pleasant will never change, sad to try and come back and enjoy one of the things I used to in my youth and see that you let it go down the drain with poor management. Tried to go see minecraft tonight with the fam at their 7pm showing and we stood outside for 20 mins.then when the line started moving and we finally got into the build to buy ticket we noticed there was yet another 15min line in the building for drinks and soda and the theather was packed so we asked if there was enough seating and if they had the up stairs open for seating. We were told that the upstairs was close that they nolonger use it all while kids and teens were running up and down the whole time we stood in line for drinks. When we finally got to the soda machine both of them had over flowing dump trays no ice and were running low on flavoring bc my rootbeer was more water than anything so i just had to leave it on the counter for there was no where to dump it. When i saw there was no seating and people were asking for refunds i looked to see if snow white had seats bc they were to start at the same time and minecraft still had yet to start it was 720 when we got tickets and now it was about 730 and so i looked in the room to snow white and saw there was open seats but the movie had started and when i asked a work when it started to see if we can just go see that insted and he laughed saying he didnt know he didnt start it so at that point we wanted to just get a refund and go home but they just gave us free tickets saying its the same thing they...

I want to start the review by saying that I am not associated with the cinema in any way. You may not believe that, but it's the truth. My husband and I just moved to Iowa about a month ago, and this was our first time going to a movie here in Iowa. We were going to go to Ottumwa but saw that Mt. Pleasant has a theater too, so we decided to try it out. We were very pleasantly surprised! The prices are great, and because of this it makes it easier to buy concessions without spending a lot. The popcorn was fresh, and the fountain drinks were also great and not watered down. The theater itself was really great, and they have reclining seats. The bathroom was super clean too. It was so clean I had the feeling that I was the first person to ever use it. We will definitely be going here from now on, and if I could give more than five stars I would!
