I do not normally leave reviews regarding places I eat either from the worst or best experience; because you do not know what is going on behind the scenes. This time it is different for me and my SO. We ate here on 7/22/25 we were sat down by our waitress. First, off let me begin by saying our waitress through this entire time of seating to leave was very sweet and professional throughout the time we were there. The prices here are pretty high for what you get. I ordered the $19.00 Philly Cheese steak and SO other ordered $17.00 Cob Salad w/ chicken. We got our food after a small wait, no extreme wait. My SO says something is off with her chicken in her Cob salad. I looked at the piece first and thought it was maybe just a tough piece of breast meat. That can happen from time to time. Then it happened again and thought the same. Finally, she just asked me to try/look at this third piece of chicken. I look at and immediately notice we were served raw chicken!!!! I apologized to my SO, as I completely let her down. She calls the waitress over to look at this piece of chicken. Waitress runs back to the cook to let them know what is going on. Did not take the chicken back and that was clearly raw. When I meant by, raw, you could cut into it and could see it was barely past raw and just starting to cook. The cook says sorry and the owner comes out. This is where I was pissed off. She comes and gives the weakest apology I have heard from someone. Her apology goes "Sorry, about that chicken. All our food is temp checked to correct internals at 165F." At this point, I was not even going to argue with "the owner" because clearly she thinks serving raw chicken is okay long as a half of the baked chicken is cooked. The raw side of the chicken could be served considering the other half is cooked. Not only did not the cook not tell the different between cooked and raw chicken when cut. He could not even feel the texture difference between the two when slicing into the breast. All the owner, did was comp the chicken on the Cob salad. Oh yea, forgot to mention it is $4.00 to add chicken to a Cob salad. This is the same price as pound of chicken. I understand business have to make money but this is beyond absurd to charge that much. "The Owner" only comps the chicken on our entire meal ticket. We paid and just left. NEVER COME HERE IF YOU ARE OKAY WITH GETTING...
Read moreMy recent visit to The Grange Restaurant left much to be desired, beginning with a lackluster welcome from the owner upon our arrival. The atmosphere felt uninviting, marked by dirty, uncleared tables surrounding us, which set the tone for the evening.
After placing our order, we were disappointed to learn that many menu items were unavailable. It took our waitress three trips to inform us that they were out of various staples, including bread, fries, wings, steak, and pasta. This lack of communication was frustrating and left us feeling neglected.
The service itself was painfully slow, with a 20-minute wait for just two beers and two cocktails, the server said the bar was busy yet there was nobody at the bar.
When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. The sweet potato fries were overcooked, and the Caesar salad was unexpectedly drizzled with a horseradish dressing, which was not mentioned on the menu. The chopped salad was bland and underwhelming, failing to impress in flavor or presentation.
A particularly disappointing moment was when the vegetarian burger was served with meat gravy on mashed potatoes, a baffling oversight considering the absence of fries. To add insult to injury, both vegetarian pasta options were unavailable, and the substitute offered was a child-sized, flavorless bowl of noodles with tofu and no sauce.
Furthermore, the dining experience was marred by a lack of basic condiments; no salt or pepper was provided at the table, and none was offered even with plain baked potatoes. Overall, the staff appeared to be struggling with low morale, likely embarrassed by the limited menu offerings and the overall service experience. Unfortunately, our visit did not live up to expectations, and my in laws were hoping to use this as an opportunity to treat us whilst visiting for Christmas therefore did not wish to make a fuss...
Read moreMade reservations for 2 at 7pm, we were seated at the bar immediately (per request) waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by the bartender. Watched a woman walk away from her food at bar and ask server for a box. Got our beers, watched a couple be seated without menus, or acknowledgement, they waited 20 minutes and left. The bartender looked at me and said “I guess I can’t help everyone in time” We had to ask for second beers, 10 minutes later he asked again “which did you guys want?” I changed my mind. Then we were presented with a “marker” (per communication with owner) with our bill. We had made reservations, planned on dinner, apps, and drinks. Unfortunately we were not offered any food, just presented with our “marker” which felt like it was our push to leave. So we did. I reached out to the business owner, to make him aware that he had lost 4 customers in half an hours time due to poor bar service. (Service only gets better with honest feedback, which was my intention) His response “I refuse to be drawn into negativity” and “our bartender has received glowing reviews from many guests, even being called a one-man army”
Here’s the kicker, the owner was at the hostess stand. He saw the people leave, he spoke to the bartender afterwards. He saw us leave, didn’t say a word as we walked out. He took my reservation, he knew we were there for food. no apology, just defensive excuses and basically calling me a liar by rebuttling with “other reviews” from last nights service. This gentlemen has removed the review section from his Facebook page due to similar reviews as mine in the...
