Great little place to have a bite of real authentic mexican food in Mt. Pleasant IA. The ambience here was very warm and homely. The owner introduced herself. She has been here for 20 years and going strong. I had the pleasure of having an evening meal of Tostadas and rice. My friend had the chicken Fajitas. The food was oooohh so good. The owner also gave a us her history of how she started the business. There is also a family portrait of the Owner "Ana" and her 2 sons painted on the wall. If ur ever passing through or just in Mt. Pleasant IA... Stop in and have some of the best Mexican dishes in the Midwest! U won't be disappointed. Great job Little Mexico. I'll be coming back!

First time here. Excellent atmosphere, very clean and well-lit. Real cloth table coverings, excellent salsa to go with the fresh chips. Ice water is fantastic, no strange flavors. Lunch menu is great, we got a chicken chimichanga and a beef chimichanga, and a "Tony's Lunch Special" that was seasoned grilled chicken breast, over rice, with black beans, corn, and chunks of avocado with some queso on the side. All were delicious, beautiful presentation. The chicken chimi had shredded chicken, with no fillers. The beef chimi was all ground beef, and well seasoned too. We will definitely come back.

Little Mexico, us just that! Authentic Mexican food with a Thai flare and Iowan hospitality! The fusion of flavors like the Mango jalapeno shrimp, or the fresh salsa sever in a decanter, combines with the frescos on the wall were stunning. We drove all the way from Burlington just to taste the legendary dishes, and suggest you do as well. Certainly a dinning experience your taste buds will love.

We knew we were going to pass through Mt. Pleasant and needed a place to eat. After looking at reviews and menus online, we narrowed our list to this and one other place. We chose this one and are SO glad we did. The service was great and the food was outstanding. We had a large party (nine, mix of adults and kids) and they were accommodating to us and very family-friendly atmosphere. Lots of choices on the menu and everything was very good. As others have said, the queso dip with the chips was great and the atmosphere was very clean and bright. My wife ordered the Gorditas which were 'cute' in her words and very yummy. I ordered the "Carnitas Gary" and honestly don't think I've ever had a better meal at a mexican restaurant EVER. The pico de gallo was also amazing - fresh and had avocados, which was a very nice touch.

Overall, I highly recommend it and the next time we pass this way, we will be sure...

I didn’t even want to give this one star but had to in order to post a review.

My husband and I had the worst Mexican food ever! Prices to high, quantity too low (yes we ordered the dinner options, I’d hate to see the quantity served for lunch), no seasoning on anything what do ever! The most flavorful item on our plates was the tomatoe slice with our salad… I ordered a chimichanga all it was was a tortilla with brown hamburger in it with a little dribbled on top. The hamburger wasn’t even salted. I hardly eat any of mine. My husband ate of his and the rest of mine and is still hungry we are happy we have left over soap at home. Will never return and never recommend this...
