Update: Not sure if the owner will see this response to their response. I’m glad you’re aware of the scalping issue and have already taken steps to curb it. I apologize for any facts I got wrong here, and appreciate you taking the time to respond and clear things up for me. I really like your store and would prefer to support it over a major retailer and will happily continue to do so!
I really enjoy this place and go quite a bit and don’t want give them a low rating over one thing, but I was disappointed recently with their decision to let one person buy all the pre sales for the newest Pokémon ETB. I got back into collecting the cards like a lot of 90’s kids because of the 151 set and the nostalgia it brought. But scalpers are absolutely ruining it for people who are just trying to have fun and I thought that Riftgate would be above allowing that to happen. The very fact one person bought them all to sell them at a markup is proof you don’t need to worry about selling them if you limit how many every person can buy. I hope going forward they revise their policy so that people that are buying them to actually enjoy them can actually get them instead of one...
Read moreResponse" to owners response. I'm not the one who owns a business, so I'd recommend eduacting yourself in the practice, as my job is not that of a seller or card shop. I work and enjoy purchasing from card shops. All I expressed was your staff were rude and conceded, and getting on a pc to buy something in a case, that's right in front of me is frustrating, and waiting for no other customers in the store, and they were condescending in the way they told me to do it. I've never been there before. And I will not ever come back. As for advice, all I can say is yall should be nice to people. Specially ones who buy from you and support your life. And employees life. I'm just one guy who will never return. But keep treating people the way yall do and it will surely snowball to show your true faces... Please don't treat other customers the way you treated me. It's not decent and not respectful and shows you're integrity and values.
Staff members were not too friendly. I wanted some cards in the case. They made me get on a cpu in the shop. Order the cards. And wait. Not the best experience. And it took a long time. Over...
Read moreRiftgate is a really good place to hang out and get a few games of commander in. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Contrary to popular belief, this store sells singles-- I know right? I had no idea. But the good thing is, as soon as you walk up to the register there's this GIANT glass case full of singles. Sometimes I forget from time to time that this place sells singles.
The cool thing about pre-releases is that if you really want to, you could attend several pre-releases back-to-back if you're a loser like me and have a lot of free time lol. Nah, but seriously, I could go on for days about the staff. Ethan is knowledgeable about card prices, Zoe is friendly and super helpful, Tanner has great hair (inside joke), Nathan runs the booster drafts and is super knowledgeable and, Adam is incredibly helpful. In fact, if you're sitting at a table with your mtg cards Adam will attempt to pair you up with someone who might be doing the same thing. Honestly, this store is...
