I have recently moved here from the Quad Cities, having shopped at all the locations in my adult life experiencing every possible scenario I have never had a poor Aldi experience until I frequented the Muscatine store. The incredible rudeness Iāve experienced over the past 3 years is baffling. Once I did not have a quarter for a cart and the cashier treated me like a criminal and refused to offer a quarter to me out of the register - something that has NEVER EVER ONE TIME happened at any Quad Cities. Fortunately a stranger was kind enough to lend me a quarter.
Today at the self checkout lane I was purchasing chicken breast with a 50A% off sticker and it was ringing up full price. So I rang for help, the cashier blatantly ignored the call for help - I thought maybes someone would come soon, it is Sunday and theyāre busy I understand it could take a while so I finished scanning my items. No one came so I ran again, made eye contact and the cashier was VISIBLY bothered and gestured āWHAT, WHAT DO YIU NEED?ā To which what I can believe is the manager said she had it - when I explained that I had this chicken that was ringing a full price, she responded very rudely āyes well we have to do it ourselvesā as if I was supposed to know that they have to manually reduce the price. It was very apparent to me that they were busy and could not be bothered, helping a customer during checkout who was supposed to know to go through the checkout lane, and not the self checkout lane. The store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, get a grip on your management and start at the top and let it trickle down. Your people need to learn kindness, itās not like Iām a rude person who hasnāt ever worked in the service industry, Iāve worked as a waitress, Iāve worked in the retail industry, and so I get that people can be extremely rude and impatient, I am not that person and do not appreciate being treated this way when I was patient, smiling, kind, and understanding that they are busy, but this treatment...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Muscatine store is kept clean. I usually find Aldi has ALMOST everything on my weekly list. There seems to be an enormous turnover of personnel at this store. The staff seems harried by the pace of their work. In the past six months there have usually been some empty shelves. Dented cans, opened, broken and crushed boxes of grocery items are now commonplace. When Monica was the store manager, this stuff never happened. So, I suspect the staff turnover and stocking issues are management issues. The emphasis on the "aisle of temptation" and the deteriorating attention on groceries is a shame. But I suppose that's probably coming from corporate headquarters. This store seems overwhelmed by customer demand. But the prices keep...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat kind of a company has so little regard for their customers that they can't even supply a telephone number to contact the corporation, stores or any kind of customer service in case of an incident, emergency or issue? The Muscatine store is so badly managed that there are problems consistently. It's a recipe for disaster with a company that ONLY cares about profit with no concern whatsoever for common decency, community goodwill or their customers health and satisfaction. Their prices are very high for the lack of quality/service, most products are less than substandard and their business practices are repulsive. If I could give 0 or negative...
