They did it again! I continue to appreciate the care and professionalism of the wonderful people at A. Brandt & Son. The owner Elan reached out to me about a piece I had seen a while back and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival. There was a minor modification that I requested and when this is completed it will be home for good.

My love affair with A Brandt & Son continues! Once again, I found an amazing piece that I love for multiple reasons. It has historic value and was made by a very famous Jeweler, Herman Marcus the founder of Marcus & Co. This piece, a drop dead stunning Art Nouveau 14K Carnelian Spinner fob was on my radar for a while and I finally brought it home!

I have been a customer for several years now. I found them because I was looking for an ORIGINAL lorgnette chain for a French lorgnette. Sure enough they not only had one but they had a few to choose from. Pretty unimaginable.

They have the finest selection of estate pieces of any place I've ever visited. What's more, the quality of what they have is top notch. I see nothing haphazard in their choices of what they have for sale.

The owner and son and their staff could not be kinder or more accommodating. It's clear that they love what they do because it come across in their enthusiasm.

The owners response to my review (below) is shameful! She replied "If there was a known issue in regard to the safety chain and clasp after our work, we would have gladly repaired or replaced it immediately." How do you repair something that fell off within months?? I did mention, at the time of pickup, that I thought the chain was to long to catch on my wrist. You assured me it was fine and I trusted your experience. You should be ashamed of your quality of work and in your response to this case!

The owner of this jewelry store is so rude its criminal. I have brought many pieces in over the last few years to be resized etc. I recently brought in a bracelet that my father had worn his whole life. He gave it to me as he died. I stressed how important the piece was to me and asked for a latch and chain so i could never lose it. It fell off my wrist within three months and is gone forever. I asked the owner if she could recreate it with the help of a few spare links I had saved and asked if she would contribute to the new piece as it was her work that lead the bracelet to be lost. She laughed at me, told me I was a ridiculous person and said it was my fault the bracelet was lost. The she hung up on me! Would give 0 stars if I could. Yesterday I reserved a bracelet, or so I thought, by speaking over Instagram with A Brandt and Son. The associate asked me to call the store the next day to complete the layaway. Having reserved the bracelet, I felt calm about doing this. The next day, I called the store only to find that A Brandt and Son had sold my bracelet (that I had already reserved) to somebody else who had bought my bracelet 4 hours after me!! After speaking with the store, I am appalled even further by their lack of compensation in this matter. Not only was my item shipped before I even had the chance to call the store about my reservation, but I was not given any compensation for the "huge misunderstanding and miscommunication". They have money for Instagram and Google advertising and a fancy website, but not for honoring their customer agreements! This has hugely tainted my experience of buying antique jewelry from retailers and deeply disappointed me in A Brandt and Son as I had purchased from them previously.
