It’s hard to describe the experience shopping at Wardrobe. The clothes are truly unique, align with the latest fashion, fit well and are of high quality. The windows are always amazing to see- we drive by regularly, often via an indirect route, just to check out what is new. But what makes shopping at Wardrobe an amazing experience, that sets this store apart from other stores and online, is Jonathan, the proprietor. He has a fantastic eye for fashion, color, texture and design and he loves his business. It’s clear he loves to make his clients feel good about their experience and what they purchase and how they look in clothes they are considering. He is the perfect balance of complimentary and honesty. If something doesn’t look good on you, he will tell you in a nice way. I have never felt judged. He also learns his clients’ tastes and suggests items that have, for me, worked. I am complimented often on my clothes (at work or just in public) from complete strangers. My husband has stopped in to buy gifts for me and my sister and Jonathan will give him feedback on his selections (“she already has that one, but what about this?” or “yes, that is great for her”). Do yourself a favor and stop by Wardrobe. You will be so happy you did and be back for the next season or when you have a...
Read moreI am still shaken from my experience here. I have lived in the neighborhood for ten years and have shopped here several times. I love Narberth, but it is not diverse. As a woman of color, I have never felt comfortable with the owner, Jonathan, who always seemed colder to me than the other customers, but I largely dismissed these feelings. Last week, I came in and the store was empty except for Jonathan. Within moments of my being there and looking at a clothing rack, he began yelling (yes, actually yelling) at me angrily to "stop touching his clothes," and then made a growling noise, staring at me, until I quickly left. I have never experienced such a violent outburst and don't know what to make of it. I'm not sure if it was race-based, but I now realize it was the first time I was in the store without other customers, which perhaps made him feel like he could target me without...
Read moreI've been shopping at Wardrobe for the last 5 years, and Jonathan has really helped me shape up my wardrobe. I've been so happy with the compliments I've gotten that I've taken several friends there and they have all had extremely positive experiences as well. One of my friends is 5'9" and athletic build - and that means pants and sleeves are usually too short - but not here! Another friend is 4'11" and super petite, and again Jonathan has worked miracles to find them clothing that fits off the rack with little to no tailoring needed. Additionally, most of his brands are not available in malls, and many are made in the USA or Canada, not cheap imported stuff. During Covid I've been shopping online at Wardrobe, or calling Jonathan and having him send out gifts to friends and family for me. I miss going into the store, but appreciate having Jonathan send out my...
