SECOND EDIT: Listen, I don't know anything about computers, so maybe this is normal. However, over the past two weeks of using my laptop since it was repaired by MetaTechnical, I have observed some flaws beyond the cosmetic issues I discussed below. The laptop doesn't fully rest closed - there is a tautness in the lid where the screen is that pulls it away from resting on the keys properly. The casing around the screen regularly detaches slightly at the sides, and I have to push it back together. I was happy with how quick and inexpensive the repair was, especially as I was under a time pressure. However, I have to change this review to a 2 star review given not only the cosmetic damage but also how much more fragile the casing is and how it doesnt seem to fit together properly anymore. Next time, I'm going somewhere else, and I suggest you do too.
EDIT: I am removing a star from what had been a five star review because after I got home, I realized that there was some cosmetic damage on the laptop body. There were some small holes that had been drilled in it that were extremely conspicuous. I understand that it was probably necessary to do to complete the repair, but I wish that they had asked me before making such an irreparable change to the laptop. I also wish that they had patched the holes. To their credit, when I emailed photos to the office manager, she offered to get them patched up with resin for no extra charge, but I think that should have been done before I picked the laptop up, not after I complained. I'm still fairly happy about the experience, especially considering the price and the expedience. Their office manager is great and highly communicative. I'm a little peeved at the technician, though.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Like an idiot, I broke my laptop screen right before an important business trip. These guys worked with me to get the repair done quickly and inexpensively. I am very impressed with them and grateful to the office manager who worked with me. Very professional and...
Read moreI’ve never gave bad reviews in my life to anyone, but this company absolutely the worst IT support company, even when they mess up they still want to get paid and even if they cost your company thousands of dollars in time wasted and glitches, they still want to get paid and here is the best, even when they don’t do any work, they still want to get paid. They keep blaming it on staffing issues and things out of their control but when you find someone that’s available all year long and don’t have any of the issues they were having, their ego gets in the way and they try to collect unearned money that they didn’t work for using the corrupt judicial system to work you to pay and lose more as a small business. Stay away from these guys, they come in as all nice and you’re too small for us to support you, but all of a sudden they want to collect 3 months that they didn’t do anything because if the other company taking over. Absolutely disgusting! Update: If the services were cancelled and the company was paid to that date, why is anyone required to pay for the months that no service were provided? The lawyer they have is the corrupt one that knows how to work the bad system that we have. Plain and simple: this company has issues not competing with others and instead of accepting that they’re too slow or not competent in the matter, they try to get paid for months of services not provided since...
Read moreComplete waste of time. We brought a laptop in for a keyboard replacement. After a week, they told us they needed to order a part. After another week, they told us it would be delayed since their intern quit. (Side note: this business is apparently so mismanaged that losing one intern means massive delays). After another week, they told us they wouldn't be able to repair it after all. Bonus: When I went in to pick it back up, the laptop was still disassembled and I had to stand around waiting for them to slowly figure out how to reassemble it. This business is a great combo of employee incompetence and gross mismanagement.
Editing this to add: I just tried booting up the laptop, and turns out they returned the laptop to me with the wrong power adapter. So now I have to go back to the shop again. Absolute amateur show.
Second edit: After going back to the store to get the power cable, I discovered that the laptop's speakers are no longer working. So not only did they not fix the initial problem, but they caused new damage...
