Banh mi review: We ordered two sandwiches and a chicken summer roll with peanut sauce for $26.00 take out.
I was very pleased with size of sandwiches and the summer rolls they are densely packed with food. The chicken summer rolls had girth but the chicken inside was dry so dunking them in peanut sauce was a no brainier and made them tasty wouldn't eat without some kind of sauce. You get two in the order.
The pork banh mi and steak/beef banh mi looked similar as they cut meat into strips kind of like thin gyro meat. I appreciate the bread it's toasted to perfection and they are generous with the mayo they put inside gives the sandwich flavor. The daikon was present to give banh mi feel and was tasty how I would want it to be the upside is you get a lot of meat downside is the meat quality is just okay not my favorite. Not sure if it's the way it's cut that makes it hard to eat but just lacked texture and flavor wasn't terrible just had better meat else where. Final verdict is if you are craving banh mi I'd order from here it's still great portion for price and will be good but don't expect the best banh mi of your life. Peanut sauce is a must order extra it helped give my...
Read moreSo this place is pretty neat and looks pretty modern. However, I did not feel the authentic Vietnamese atmosphere/environment/decor in this place like in many other Pho places. Then there come the staffs, even though it's quite quiet at the time, we waved and made eye contacts for assistance/questions including at the end for the bill and each and every time it took some effort to be noticed...not impressed.
We tried Pho and also banh mi. First off, Pho broth was no way near what I typically expected. It tastes very salty and has a different Pho taste than others. Not sure this is special for them or not, but not for me. The broth is all I love in Pho and my 1st spoon ruined it immediately. I was disappointed the most about this. I almost finished the bowl anyway because I paid for it. Meat and pho could be more but if the broth is good, a little pricey is ok with me. Banh mi turned out to be a better choice but I felt it was pretty dry and the crunchiness of the crust is not there. Again, meat could be more but I rather have a good banh mi vs. more meat.
We've tried many Vietnamese restaurants in many states and this would not make the good list...
Read moreWe have had many items from here over the years: bahn mi, pho, wings, rice dishes, ho fun, teas. Food tastes quite good. They have increased their price recently, but still reasonable for an occassional treat.
The below is more for the restaurant as a customer request, as there is no other way for me to relay my request (phone call seems unsuccessful, and their website didn’t show any email): I just wish they would allow customers to make requests on delivery apps, or at least add more options under the side orders section, as it does not include all possible requests. I called the restaurant after I placed an order to make a request, as the delivery app does not let me add any instruction, and the app did not include the options that I wanted. I felt like I was getting yelled at by the restaurant. Either that, or they didn’t understand what I asking. I have no problem paying for extra requests, but please then at least include those options within your delivery service menu so I can pay for them. I would be happy to help the restaurant compile possible additional options to add as side orders, as UI is part of my...
