WARNING: DO NOT USE Narragansett Surf and Skate Shop FOR ANYTHING SURFING. I dropped off my board to get it fixed about a month ago. I returned to Narragansett Surf and Skate Shop several times to try to get the board but it wasn’t finished. On June 6, I found out Narragansett Surf and Skate Shop sold my board for $30 to another customer, the fee to repair the board. The owner, Trisha Pan, was most disrespectful and difficult to work with in correcting a mistake she made. Trisha gave me options to replace my board with another board or $500 in cash. I paid well over this amount several years ago; all I asked for was my origanal board. Per Trisha's explanation, my board was “destroyed” by the customer who bought it. (I "highly doubt" any calls were made to the customer nor any effort what so ever went into obtaining my board). After researching the replacement cost of my board, I brought the information to Trisha to make right her error. Instead of dealing in good faith, she flipped out. Her exact words included “Your board was a piece of junk” and “ be a f...... man and take the offer”. Needless to say, I had concerns over conducting business or settling affairs in this manner. I did try negotiating with Trisha until she finally said “ if you don’t take $500 today, I’m only offering you $400 the next time you come in and after that $300.” Trisha has no concept of being a business owner nor correcting errors that are her direct responsibility. She was disrespectful, argumentative and completely difficult to deal with. She has lost a loyal customer for life. I warn all to avoid Narragansett Surf and Skate Shop for anything...
Read moreI had the best experience renting here! My friend and I drove up to RI to surf and needed to rent a wetsuit and boards. Peter was BEYOND helpful. He went back to his house to get a wetsuit that would fit better than the ones he had reserved for us at the surf shop. He was knowledgable, patient, and friendly. He even helped us strap the surf boards to my car and gave me a better strap to borrow so that the boards wouldn’t scratch my car. Due to covid, the store bathroom wasn’t available for us to change into our wetsuits. Peter let us go to his guest house down the street and change. This was incredibly generous and accommodating. I 100% recommend this shop and will be visiting every time we come to Narragansett to surf. Thank...
Read moreI always love visiting my local shop.
Narragansett Surf and Skate has been around since I was a kid and probably before. But I think I really fell in love with it when I saw one of their ads in a surf magazine as a teenager when I was in florida on a trip. I had been in before I left, but just seeing a slice of home far away as a younger self really instilled something inside me. Happiness, remembrance of home, warmth. Its worth a stop in to support our local shop even if you just buy a sticker, I know they'd be happy...
