When I first called asking for someone with experience cutting curly hair (not a Deva Cut), I got Jenna. She asked me to hold, without actually putting me on hold, then I could hear her asking around who could cut curly hair then she got back on the phone and offered me an appointment with herself. I booked the appointment but then felt uneasy about her asking who had experience cutting curly then offering me an appointment with herself. The day I called to cancel with Jenna I got Michelle on the phone. I advised her of the reason why I was cancelling with Jenna. Michelle sounded confident, sympathetic and stated she had experience cutting curly hair and so I booked an appointment with her. My first appointment went okay, it was an "acceptable" cut. Michelle is very nice and personable but she immediately slid scissors down my hair which I specifically asked her not to do prior to the cut because it causes more frizz. When it came to styling my hair I explained the more you touch it the frizzier it gets and that I normally diffuse it. She didn't even have a diffuser and had to borrow one from another stylist, then I don't think she could've touched it more if she tried. Basically all she did was poke my hair/scalp with her fingertips and I ended up looking like a frizzy mad scientist. I came back a second time giving her the benefit of the doubt because we had just met and the wash and cut price was very reasonable. Needless to say the second cut wasn't a good one at all. I did book a third appointment on my way out but cancelled it about a week later and am currently waiting for it to grow out a little more before my search for a curly hairdresser begins. If there is a stylist or two with actual real experience cutting and styling curly hair that works there maybe a list should be kept at the front desk for reference. Everybody says they can cut curly hair but not everybody actually can. So frustrating. Don't just say you can cut curly hair just to build clientele, you're doing a huge disservice to the new client coming in. Also, I would suggest a curly hair cutting class for all hairdressers and listening to the clients requests and/or suggestions. If you don't agree and know better that's okay, then say so and advise why that's not a great idea. Curly hair cutting is much different than cutting straight or wavy hair Overall the atmosphere, personalities, pricing all are good. Wouldn't recommend for a curly haired person though, however I am aware that I may have just been assigned to the wrong...
Read moreI was a loyal client of Nancy Salon for almost seven years. Ali did my hair for several years and she made my dream of having blond hair come true when every hairstylist told me it was impossible. She even discovered the right formula for my roots. I felt so sad when she left the salon. I love Nancy, and she always makes me welcome and happy. (By the way, Nancy does phenomenal Brazilian Blowout) . However, in the last two years, I had to switch to a girl name (Tibatha). She knows I strive to maintain my favorite color, blonde-haired highlight, which took Ali years to gradually achieve the color with minimal damage. Unfortunately, in my recent visit this Tuesday, I don't know what was wrong with Tibatha; she ruined all the blond that herself worked so hard to obtain!! When I looked, I was shocked at my hair turning dark brown, horrible! no more highlights! And just because I said my honest opinion, she screamed at Nancy and me too and said ( all of that just for F* hair and I didn't do a mistake ) in front of all people; that was so humiliating :( I have never been disrespected in public like this before!! Nancy sincerely apologized and brought another nice girl to fix my hair, but the damage has been already done :( Nancy charged for the highlight when ridiculously no highlight can be seen through and offered me 2 complimentary products. Well, I left disappointed. Not even in my nightmare imagined this would happen! I went to another salon to see if they could fix my hair, and they said the damage was so severe ( my hair near to break ) that I couldn't color my hair for 3-4 months, and then it had to be evaluated and go through the same cycle of years to get blond again. I was going to refer my friends, but no longer, and with a broken heart, I don't want to come back again. It's just too scary to walk in this place again . I got sworn out loud and Tibatha did not even apologize to me. Tabitha has no manners or...
Read moreI tried to avoid having to leave an honest review and reach out to the owner. Called was told she wonât be in and left name and number. I later got a call from someone else as Nancy was not available. I had an up-do style for an event and showed a pic to the stylist and my hair came out nothing like was wanting. Had to get to the event didnât have time to deal with it before leaving unfortunately. $140 for nothing like I wanted. I offered to send picture of what I asked for and pictures of what it turned out to be, I was only told I would receive a $25.00 credit for the next time I come in. I wonât be coming back in. So that doesnât work for me nor does that fairly resolve this issue. Basically they donât care and just want to keep my money and not do the right thing nor view my proof as I offered. Not cool.
In response to your reply :
I still have yet to hear from you directly. My hair is and was of average length - and I actually had 4 inches cut off the day before this appt I made 6 weeks prior. Had it cut to make it easier for the up do as I know itâs hair and will grow back. My appt did not take 2 hrs - I was not taken at the time of my scheduled appt is was 20 mins later after arriving. When org called to schedule I wanted Heidi who is lovely and regular stylist when I have been in prior. I was quickly told that she doesnât do up doâs and we need to schedule with our up do stylist. Against my better judgment I agreed. I regret that decision 100%. You have not seen the photos which I offered nor have you called me. Person who called me as I mentioned above offered a credit for $25 - I will not be returning so that does not work & no resolve. As a business owner myself - itâs important to reach out to ppl and hear them out and come to a resolution if there is a problem and hear and see the facts. As youâve made a lot of assumptions, Were not there and have not seen pics etc. Unfortunate all around and very off putting....
