Great selection of tiles for your bathroom back splashes, reasonably good selection of tile flooring, surprisingly poor selection of other flooring options. (Or perhaps I just wasnt finding what I wanted.) But the store is extremely messy and disorganized when you're trying to match up the display item with an item to purchase in particular.
We did not interact with staff beyond checkout. The cashier was fine, as we were only buying a few samples. But we were at an area with a lot of very small (hand sized) flooring samples, that were in pocket shelves along a wall and the larger, apx 2.5 ft square, samples were hanging on the walls around us. We dug around for about 15 minutes trying to find samples that matched with the wall samples. Even though it should have been a simple matter of match the wall sample number with the mini sample number, NONE of the ones we were looking for (about 4) matched!! It would have been nice if one of the multiple employee's who walked by had stopped to help. But it is possible they were busy filling orders or the like and didnt have time.
The hardwood and wood like flooring area: I did like that the sample floors were very large (about 3 x 7 feet) which really helps you get an idea of the overall look of something so big as a floor. But, I happened to be trying to find actual hardwood, and found it really difficult to figure out when I was moving from hardwood to vinyl plank. (Which probably speaks well of the plank!!) But again, from an organizational standpoint, it would have genuinely helped if there were clearer labels on the shelves. There were also large pallets of flooring left in the middle of the aisle for no apparent purpose that were difficult to steer around with a large, unwieldy cart.
The tile area wasnt much better. But the backsplash tiles area stood out as being cleaner and the selection - on the walls at least - was great! But it was often impossible to find the wall tile on the shelves in front of us from the actual tile below.
So. For selection, Id give this store a 5 for backsplashes, and a 3 or 4 for tiles, and about a 2 or 3 for wood like or actual wood flooring. I just did not like most of the flooring they had.
The employee's I didnt have much interaction with, so I will say they didnt seem eager to jump in and help with questions. But at least so far as the checkout process, the cashier wasnt overly friendly, but she wasnt rude either.
It would be a big help if the store could be a bit cleaner and more organized. But they could easily be genuinely short staffed.
If you're not familiar with the area, this isnt the nicest part of town either. I felt safe, but was also going in the middle of the day. And the parking lot was in pretty rough shape with a lot of potholes and unevenness. Zero landscaping. Just a giant...
Read moreI've been in remodeling for 40 years now. In all those years, I've never dealt with a store manager with such a bad attitude. Cashiers yes. I'm surprised that Floor & Decor would let a person like Stanler Maye run their store. Today I had to buy 4 more cases of flooring and some 1/4 round molding. I found the molding in the clearance pile. It was marked 1.50 per piece. Well, when I got up front, it rang up as 3.00 per piece. Doubled price! I told the cashier that wasn't correct and she called over the manager, Stanler Maye. He said I had to pay what ever rang up on the register. I said that's not right as the price was only 1.50 per piece on the sign. He didn't believe me so I took him over to the pile. At first, he tried to say I looked at it wrong. I said no, the sign says 1/4 round marked with a green sticker is 1.50 a piece. Then I showed him the package I got it from with a green sticker on it. Next he says, well you'll have to pay 3.00 per piece. I'm not going to change it just for you. Wow, I couldn't believe what he just said. At the time, I didn't know he was a manager, so I asked him if I could see a manager. He replied, I AM the manager. As I started to talk to him and tell him he couldn't put a sign up with one price and then double it at the cash register. His response. He just walked off.. Wow! I started to go back up front and then I thought I should get pictures of this. I turned around and went back to the pile. He was already going down the side isle WITH THE SIGN! I said, wow you remove the sign after I leave. I'd like to get a picture of that. He ignored me and kept walking! I said hey, I'd like to get a picture of that. He turns and says, Hay is for horses, my name is Stanler. I thought, wow, this is a manager talking like this to a customer and not honoring prices on signs. He finally put the sign down and let me take a picture of it. I told him it was illegal to post prices in the isle like that and charge a different price at the cash register. He just laughed and walked away! I see from the reviews on their site, I'm not the first one to run up against his bad attitude. You've lost any further business from me and I used to send all my customers over to your store....
Read moreI ended up having a great experience at the Antioch Floor & Decor thanks to Betsy! I really do not know what I would have done without her but I might have just had to leave? First off, I went there interested in one stone but found out it was being discontinued resulting in stock shortages so I went with another style (which we are happy with on our fireplace). I decided to try this place after researching their stone choices and prices online. The first person who I stopped to ask a question was barely interested in helping me and wanted to be done with me as quickly as possible. He (darker brown hair, red shirt) left me confused and standing there looking at my second choice in tile while walking by me two more times and ignoring me. I saw Betsy helping another woman and lingered at a safe distance and then pounced when Betsy was free! She helped me figure everything out based on the numbers from my contractor. She got someone to get more boxes from a pallet up high and even offered to help them onto my cart and into my car (which I declined, of course, since I needed the exercise and she needs to use her time and energy helping people in that store). Betsy also helped me pick out larger tiles for a fireplace pedestal and offered advice on various tile and cleaning options. She got an expert from Install to tell me what I needed to make my stones adhere to OSB wood and their recommendation worked great. I got the right amount of tile, thanks to her, so that I could keep a bit in my shed "just incase" and will return a little extra I bought incase any pieces were broken (they weren't) or my contractor broke some (he didn't). I'm glad they have such a friendly return policy for instances like this. They have a large parking lot and let you pull your car up in front of the store to load up your stuff. If you want to have a good experience at this store,...
