Not very big variety at the outside market. Inside Erma's Nutrition Center was snooty and rude; not friendly to "outsiders". Someone got upset I walked past him to the sign I was following for the bathroom. Apparently he was "in line" though he was off to the side in front of the coolers just having conversation with a couple people and not a clue he was in a line. There was not a line at all! He yelled, "ARE YOU IN LINE?" Quite embarrassed, I apologized that "I didn't know, it was my first time there". I have stress urgency, so it was not pleasant. I just went home to pee and quit shopping. Front register people act like you should know what to do or your way around, but I didn't! It was my first time there. Asked to leave three items up at register, they acted like I told them the I was putting kooties on the counter. "Stranger danger!" They were quick to point out the baskets in the corner I must use. I didn't want a basket. I simply just to set down 3 items to quickly use the bathroom I apparently didn't follow protocol for. I will not go back again. I felt very unwelcome; not part of the it crowd...
Read moreDocked 2 stars for Just Peachy vendor's lack of transparency. Meats are a little high (they have risen their prices within last year) but produce is great & clean eating on both (organic grass fed etc. ) ONLY if you get from Winters farm. Just Peachy unfortunately has not demonstrated proof of their organic practices and won't let anyone come see their farm which is conveniently 3hrs from here and closest to Dallas.I had stickers on my produce from them (Gala apples). This is why they didn't pass vetting for Galveston's Own Farmers Market. Typically organic growers are VERY proud of their hard work and love to have visitors. You can go see Winter's farm and several others anytime. Bills plants, Law Ranch and Dane's honey are all legit. Dane is great beekeeper. Know where you get your food...
Read moreQuaint little farmers market right across from NASA (Johnson Space Center). We love the pre-order option so that we're guaranteed to get what we want even if we're not there in the 1st couple of hours. Make sure to get on the Peachy Farms email list for this pre-order option. The honey vendor has local honey that truly does help with allergies. I've been using his honey for over a year meow and my allergies have stayed in check with minimal use of allergy meds. I'm only giving this 4 stars because there are limited options at this smaller market with only a...
