New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) — Local services in New Berlin

The New Berlin Activity and Recreation Center is a nice and spacious facility that I am sure will serve the community well for years to come. The building itself is impressive, and it’s great to see such a well-designed space for various activities.

That said, my personal experience was a bit disappointing. I took my kids to check out the Indoor Playground, and they had a great time. Based on that, I decided to purchase an annual pass for over $200. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the restricted hours of operation, nor was it brought to my attention when enrolling. The playground is closed all day Sunday and has a midday break on Saturdays from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, only to close for the day on Saturday at 3:30 PM. As a parent of three young children, these are probably the times we would have used the facility the most.

I feel like it’s very expensive for what you get, yes it’s newer and looks nice. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The actual gym section with workout equipment is about 8 machines. Which has been busy the few times I’ve been there. The track is nice, the basketball courts look nice. But there’s not much to actually do for the cost of the place. The children’s play gym area looks decent still a bit smaller than expected but again the price they want for my child to play in there is a bit to expensive for what it is. Not worth the price unless you’re a pickleball player came here on a Saturday to play basketball and there were 2 wide open courts and I was told there is no basketball today. The website blows the schedule doesn’t say any basketball times only pickleball, what’s the point of paying 48 dollars as an adult to then not have a chance to play basketball on my day off just an all around waste of money and time the place is nice too very unfortunate. Just wish we could use a community center to prioritize teens and youth over adult pickleball hopefully a couple of times can be made for people who just wanna play...
