George Webb Restaurant — Restaurant in New Berlin

Came in here with a friend on October 31st 2018, around 6:30 pm. We had vouchers for free burgers in celebration of the Brewers 12 game winning streak. I was the last day to use them. When we stepped in, no one greeted us or acknowledged us. We sat down at the counter and the waitress (Queenie according to her name tag) saw we had vouchers, she immediately asked us what we wanted on our burgers. She didn’t greet us, ask if we wanted anything to drink, or make an effort to be even remotely friendly. She was gruff and seemed annoyed at our being there. When she asked about our burgers and I asked a question about toppings, she looked at me like I was an idiot, and answered with so much annoyance that I retracted the question. We also ordered an appetizer basket. After we finished ordering, again without her asking if we wanted anything to drink, I thanked her. She walked away without acknowledging me.

We sat and waited, depressed and uncomfortable the whole time. At one point, Queenie barked a number out very abruptly, which we thought was the order number or something, it didn’t seem directed at us. A few minutes later, she actually bothered herself to come up to us and say the number again. Only then did we realize that was our order total. There was no, “That’ll be $8.36” or “8.36 is your total today.” She just snapped a number at us and again made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by being there. We weren’t given any sort of bill or receipt.

When the food got there, it was wrapped up to go. She had not asked us if we wanted it to go, we did not tell her we wanted it to go. We’d wanted to sit and relax before going to a movie. By then we’d both had enough and took our food and left. I’d heard Queenie say goodbye to a different set of customers who came before us. She did not say goodbye, thank you, or anything else to us.

We ate our burgers in the parking lot, both of which were mediocre at best, not worth the 45 minute drive we’d made to get them. They were fine. I could’ve gotten a comparable burger at Mcdonalds without the hassle or discomfort. We ended up going to a fast food place just to buy sodas because we weren’t offered anything in George Webb and both of us were too uncomfortable to ask for anything. The appetizer basket went cold because it wasn’t something we felt like eating in the car. We’d bought it originally so we wouldn’t just be getting free food, and to give the server a bigger tip. Needless to say, we changed our minds about the tip.

Absolutely horrible service, the worst I’ve had in recent memory. Mediocre food, especially considering what we went through to get it. Terrible way to spend a holiday night. We were made to feel like burdens, completely unwelcome there. Mission accomplished. Will never eat at this...

We were at this George Webb for breakfast today, Friday. Our 1st time at this location. We were very impressed with the service and food. We were greeted right away as we walked in the door by a young gentleman. Sara was our waitress. We were pleased to see her again! She has always been a great waitress....here and at other establishments. She was very attentive and friendly. Our drinks were brought to us right away and our order was taken quickly. Sara checked on us, kept our coffee cups full, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Also, it seemed very busy while we were there, and with only one cook cooking for everyone, the food still came out quick, hot, and tasted great. Great job in the kitchen! My friend and I will not be returning to this so called establishment period. From the moment we first walked in, we felt out of place, unwelcomed and disrespected. This is not a warm or considerate environment. this place is nothing more than a jail cell that happens to hold a kitchen. It is here that customers are made to feel unworthy of customer service and they are made to feel as though they have nothing more than a kindergarden education. The service here is rude and simply does not care about the satisfaction of their guests. the food is fair priced and overall very solid. Food has never been the issue. however, a service staff from hell would qualify as a substantial issue which must at some point in time be not only called out but...
