Comal Thrift Shoppe — Local services in New Braunfels

I sometimes thrift dvds as a hobby. I went to this thrift shop and purchased some dvds but when I asked for a receipt they asked for my phone number, to which I said no thank you. They then informed me they are "paperless" and then asked for my email instead. Not seeming to understand, I informed the cashier that not providing a receipt is against the law (Texas Business and Commerce Code - BUS & COM § 601.052). She insisted she had no way to give me a receipt without me giving her a phone number or email, so I left with no receipt.

In my opinion, it looks like Comal Thrift is attempting to coerce their customers into giving up their personal information just to get a receipt for their purchase, so they can market to and track them. Do you really want to shop at a thrift store that acts like a predator? I certainly don't, and will be taking my business elsewhere. I would give zero stars if I could! The ONLY positive thing I can express is that there are 2 lady volunteers that are super friendly and very nice. This can NOT be said of the manager. I have never understood why people who are completely miserable and do not know how to provide even sub par customer service always seem to be in this line of work. She was like a lump sitting behind the counter the entire time I was browsing. The volunteers should get her salary as they were busy on the floor the entire time. When I decided on the items I wanted and was ready to check out I asked about how I could sign up for the text alerts the manager was rude, disrespectful, discriminatory & argumentative. She is an utter disgrace and does not represent the mission statement of this establishment. I will NEVER EVER walk thru these doors & spend ONE MORE...

There seems to a b a big problem with their codes n the manager Roxanne, who after sending me the wrong code, didn't want to honor their mistake instead proceeded to damage my character By gaslighting n involve her fellow employees that were not present to spread gossip about me n then lied to her boss to justify not honoring the code. Bad public relations n rude. If I was her boss I'd get rid of that disrepectful woman n hire a more pleasant person or place her in the back where she doesn't deal with the public.
