Dean's created several pieces of jewelry for me and friends of mine over the years, and he knocks it out of the park every time. I've visited Dean in his old studios in Austin and his current spot in New Braunfels - all super cool. It's not a shop, but a sleek, modern and comfortable space for custom designing unique pieces. You'll love how his consultations are relaxed conversations... never high-pressure sales or awkward interactions with suit-wearing staff. You'll probably find Dean in a t-shirt and jeans, eager to find out what you're into, what you're looking for, and excited to start sharing ideas with you right out the gate. (After you pet his dog Bean, of course. She's the sweetest silver lab you'll ever meet.)

Pricing is fair and largely based on the current price of metals and whatever stones you choose. It's absolutely possible to get an affordable custom piece. Now, if you're looking for a diamond or specific gemstones, Dean can help source it. Keep in mind, as a custom jeweler, he doesn't keep mass-produced rings in stock or even many gemstones - he custom designs each piece from scratch. And you can depend on him to get you the stones you want! For one of my rings, he ordered several large "rustic" diamonds, and I got to pick which I liked best before he made the ring!

Dean Fredrick made our engagement ring so we paid him to make our wedding rings. Two weeks before our wedding date he had 1/2 our money and just stopped responding. We called, text, emailed and nothing. The day we left town to travel to CA for our wedding I was banging on his door and nothing. We had to get rings when we landed in CA just for something to use. Literally on our wedding day as we were about to walk down the aisle he texted and said sorry, I’ll give you 20% off and I think I can finish them tonight 😡🤬 it doesn’t really matter what his excuse was, he treated us like this during the engagement ring process, disappearing, not responding for days or weeks. We just wanted our rings to match…you can be a good artist but you have to be a better business owner.
