I was really debating posting this for a while. I’ve been a client here for a long time. I’ve come for skin, hair, and nail services over at least two years.
I’m posting this based off of my last experience for getting my nails done here. I booked my appointment online, and booked for a fill. I wanted nail art. There wasn’t a slot to choose that as an option. So I just booked the fill. I got in with a tech who usually does my nails when I go. She started my appointment about 10 minutes late (which I was fine with). I sit down tell her that a few of my nails are lifting and she proceeded to cut all the lifting acrylic off with nippers. Now I’m also a cosmetologist, and I did nails for two years. I always file off the lifting areas because that force can tear thin nails. And I naturally have very thin, slight nails. My natural nails were as long as my acrylics, and my pinky nail got ripped down pretty far on my nail bed. My nails were pulled around pretty forcefully for the whole time she was getting the lifting parts off and it was very uncomfortable. We finally get the nail repaired, and the others filled, time to file and polish. When I said I wanted nail art I was told that there wouldn’t be time & I had to book that. I told her there wasn’t a spot to do that online & she told me that I’d have to talk to the front desk about that for next time. So I settled for something I didn’t really want. She brought me up front to check out. Her next client was there, confirmed she had a 5:30 appointment. I was checked out at 5:20, and she started me 10 minutes late. After hearing that, I was pretty annoyed that there “wasn’t time” to do what I wanted with my nails.
I’m leaving this review a week after my experience because one nail is already almost completely off it’s lifting so bad, and the polish is already chipping. It’s no chip, but I only got one coat of the color. It needed two. But she put glitter on the top so I’m going to assume that she skipped a coat to save time.
And to add insult to injury, I had them change my name in the system last time, because I got married. I get my receipt in an email for this last experience and my name is still spelled wrong. I told the receptionist a few times how it’s spelled.
I feel like a nuisance every time I come here to get nails done now. I will not be returning for these services, or this tech.
However HAIR & SKIN services still get 5 stars in my book! I will be back...
Read moreI came in for my wedding needs and this salon has made me not want to go anywhere else. They know me when I walk in the door and are accommodating with scheduling and helpful to schedule multiple services back to back so you don’t have to come back same day. They are timely during the week when they’re needing to reschedule. I come about 45 minutes away because I really like going here for getting pampered. If I ever move closer it would just be a bonus it is totally worth it. They also own a dog spa you can inquire about when visiting.
Vanessa went above and beyond to make my wedding day hairstyle the best. It stayed up for the whole night. Highly recommend for everyday service also.
Lizzie did the makeup and it stayed the whole day and night also. I was stuck on choosing a wedding lipstick and she solved all my anxious worries.
Both hair and makeup trial were excellent above and beyond and listened to my concerns to correct problems before the day of and the day of went smooth as can be. The salon made my maid of honor and I morning very effortless. They had strawberry cake gluten free and some nice fruity drink for us to enjoy.
Lisa is always great with nails and very great to talk to. I was stuck on my wedding nails as well trying even dark plum and for months couldn’t figure it out. She did my wedding nails they turned out excellent also. Highly recommend her for paws and claws :). Before she did my no chip this time just normal polish. She helped me pick out my festive color for Christmas and couldn’t be happier.
I’ve done nails with Mari and Becki as well and they each are great. Becki is super with nail designs. Mari is excellent overall and love working with her.
I’ve gotten some waxing done and they always turn out great and very professional. They really clean the wax off afterward very well which has been a problem at most places.
Sabrina is great with colors and cuts and has much experience working with...
Read moreI visited Charles Morris salon in May of 2022 where I paid $100 to have my hair completely destroyed by a new girl named Sabrina. She used her new blow-dryer on my hair and when I told her that it burnt my scalp, she said that I should've told her sooner and that she relies on her customers to tell her when her blow dryer is too hot. This comment left me shocked because I didn't know that it was the client's job to tell the hairdresser that her appliance is burning hot. There was no apology whatsoever.
As days went on and I realized how damaged my hair was from this incident, I reached out to the manager where I was offered a free deep conditioning treatment. My hair was still severely damaged. After trying to get in touch with the owners for a couple weeks, I was finally able to meet with them where they offered me a couple free trial size products. Again, nothing was able to repair the damage that was done to my hair and I returned the products.
Sabrina has still not admitted any responsibility to this incident. I have heard countless excuses from her and management including bad weather, vitamin deficiencies, and my choice of shampoo and conditioner. There is not a single hair care decision I have made in my entire life that has resulted in my hair looking like this. After consultations with other professionals from different salons, they have all confirmed that heat damage can indeed cause the results I am seeing.
I am writing this review because although there were a few things done by the manager and owners to try to rectify the situation, I feel like nobody understands the severity of what happened. It will take several years for my hair to grow out and get back to normal. Not only did I pay to have my hair destroyed, but I am also paying a lot of money to try to tame it until it grows out. I will not be returning to Charles Morris Salon and I hope that people think twice before trusting this salon...
