Food: The seafood gumbo and the crawfish etouffee were a great choice. Both had well developed flavor. The chicken cracklin was salty and was basically mini chicken tenders and not all what you’d think when you hear cracklin. It should have been crispy chicken skin and that, it was not. Lastly, the side salads were wilted and not fresh and the whole snapper was extremely salty in areas where the fish was sitting in the accompanying sauce. Service: Chelsea, our waitress, while not overly chipper, was agreeable. Atmosphere: The outside dining space truly had the potential to be quite nice, however, lack of bug control made eating outside impossible. Large house flys swarmed our food instantly, landing on our cups, plates, utensils, etc. When I asked to move inside an extremely rude bus-boy told us we would have the same experience inside (which did not end up being the case, thank God). He then left without helping to move any of our food, water, etc indoors. As a result, I grabbed a different waitress to assist, and my myself and my family were left to help her bring all our food inside. Literally no other servers helped at all despite the apparent struggle. Inside, thankfully, there were no flies. The vibe was also not what we expected. How this places presents online and what you actually get are two completely different experiences. In-person it didn’t at all have an elegant or relaxing feel. I think most reviews that are positive are probably coming from folks who drink because this place seems to be more of where you go to get some strong beverages, which at that point you don’t even care about bad service or cleanliness. Overall: As someone not from Louisiana, who was in town visiting and wanting good food and experiences, I would not at all recommend this place. You can get good food elsewhere and not have to deal with everything else that comes along with...
Read moreI’m writing this review as I’m currently dining here. First of all, I made a reservation for 5 to celebrate my mom’s birthday with indoor seating. Got there and was two people short of our party and was told that we’ll be seated once all of the parties arrived which is totally understandable. The few of us that arrived went to the bar to have a few drinks until we could be seated. Got to the bar and the male bartender was very standoffish and had a very unpleasant attitude. Ordered the Mimosa Flight and it was not worth it at all. Two of our glasses of water had bugs in them. Finally our complete party arrived. The hostess went to seat us outdoors and i inquired about it since i made reservations for indoor seating. She then proceeds to tell me “oh we have no waiters for that area so we’ll have to sit you outside” she then proceeds to sit groups that came after us indoors and a table that was next to us complained of the heat and they were then offered indoor tables. We were about to get up and leave when “Nae” our waitress came over and she was so chill and and her vibe made us want to stay. We ordered gumbo and chili Thai wings for appetizers and our wings came out cold, “Nae” apologized and went to get us “new” wings. We should have simply kept the cold wings cause the new ones were hard and dry. We then ordered our entrees. I had the salmon which was DRY!!! and flavorless. One had a burger and stated “a quarter pounder from McDonalds taste better” the others had lamb chops which they were not impressed with. They ask you if you want to load your potatoes but leave out the fact that it’s an $1 up charge for each item “cheese and green onion” worst part of it all my mom spent her birthday here last year and absolutely loved it so we tried to do it again since it was my first time and it was the worst...
Read moreWe went to Mondays on Sunday Feb 2 at 3:30pm. Starting the wait time it was pretty good, only 25 minutes and our party of 5 was sat. Our waitress Regene, came within a few minutes and our drinks and apps and entrees came out in great time! Wait times were never an issue given it was almost packed. I ordered the lamb and grits, the lamb was great even though one was buried into the grits so you couldn't tell immediately that it was barely half the chop, but the grits were not good. The other thing is someone in our party wanted the lamb dinner and wanted fries as his side, but she said there would be an up charged, which is weird considering he could have gotten the regular potatoes and the price wouldn't have been increased. Potatoes are potatoes and he was going to be charged extra for French fries? Our server never asked if we like out food or if everything was ok. I took one bite of my grits and they were gross and for her not to inquire stuck out, but i never want to be a problem. I feel like though she was ok, she didn't go above and beyond because that %18 gratuity was already included whether we like her service or not. She could have asked if we liked our food, and 3 out 5 weren't totally satisfied. The only people in our party who was satisfied with the food were the ones who ordered the seafood platter. And given the price the portions could have been bigger. 5 shrimp 5 oyster, one piece of fish, which I'm pretty sure was swai, they crowded the plate with fries to make it look like more for $28. She suggested the margaritas and they tasted like gas station slushy. All in all it was concluded if we go back it will be for the appetizers or the lamb if they serve it al a carte and...
