This is an experience I think everybody should experience once. It is really something to see the gators in the wild. The difficulty in the boat is at these are newer boats your seats are lower, your safety bars are higher impairing your vision . We never had the intimacy of holding a baby alligator as we did in the past. We have always booked a small boat just because of this. This was our third trip and noticed the expansion made since our last trip. They built a holding pavilion with so many people tripping on the boardwalk of the building Floor due to uneven floorboards. Read moreWe booked a city tour here (from moriah), but got put on the wrong tour. We showed up when and where we were supposed to (Jackson square) but no one could find us on an itinerary. They let us on the tour any way. The tour guide and staff there were amazing, but the tour was not a city tour, it was 3 cemeteries. That was fun, and we had a great time, but I wanted to see more of the city for $50 a ticket. I especially wanted the garden district and levee tour we were supposed to see. I loved our tour guide (a cute, goth lady, maybe Senca?) and our driver (Cory?). All in all, I recommend that tour for what it was, but not the company and you should confirm the tour with the guide...
Read moreOur swamp tour was awesome. Our guide and airboat captain, Ronnie, was extremely personable, knowledgeable, and often times hilarious!! We really, really enjoyed the tour and saw dozens of alligators and learned all kinds of interesting things about them, as well as about the brackish environment and the flora and fauna therein… it was a hot day, but the breeze and boat movement made the heat quite tolerable. Be sure to buy the transportation to and from if you are staying downtown or in French Quarter; it was well worth it as the one way trip was about 40 minutes. Would do...
