Art House Collective — Local services in New York

I made an appointment with an artist prior to Covid, for June 2020. I totally understood that the appointment would have to be rescheduled due to restrictions. About 2-3 months after the shop had reopened, I called to ask for an update. I was told that it would be rescheduled and they were working through the list on 7/31/2020. In December 2020 I had reached out again, and was told that the artist was having personal complications that were delaying her scheduling. I completely understood, but asked for my deposit back. I was advised that they do not do refunds, and to give my availability to schedule an appointment. It is 9/22/21 and I have never been reached out to to schedule this appointment, and have never received my deposit back. A deposit is meant to keep an appointment reserved, and although I totally understand that the reasoning my appointment had been cancelled was out of anyone’s control, my appointment had never been rescheduled. No appointment = no right to keep my deposit. I got the tattoo elsewhere, I’m not giving this shop any more money than they already...

My new go to place!

I came across The Art House Tattoo while doing some research online. There was a link to the shop’s Instagram page where the artists post their work. I followed them for a couple of weeks before deciding to book an appointment.

I ended up booking with Kay Tatz & I am so glad that I did. He is very professional. When I got there I maybe had to wait five minutes before we started working on what I wanted. He took his time and was patient with me. I absolutely loved the work he did for me! I have been there 3 times now and have had a great experience each time. He is a skilled & talented young artist. His work station is clean and he takes the necessary sanitary measures as all tattoo artists should. I brought my brother to him as well, who has also been back to see Kay multiple times and is happy with his work. I would absolutely recommend to anyone!
