I recently tried their frozen gefilte fish, a 11/2 pound loaf slightly sweetened with sugar. When it thawed I picked it up to transfer it to a container and immediately sensed that something was wrong; it felt like I was picking up a roll of jello. Unwrapped I saw a long quivering mass of watery grayness and after a perplexed and doubtful moment, I realized why it was so watery: water is cheaper than fish. In addition, the overwatered fish mix had been run through a blender to the point that there was absolutely no texture. To me good gefilte fish has a certain solidarity and gritty texture: you know you're biting into something. Completely absent here. As for flavor, it was minimal. But I did enjoy the lemon and horseradish. This was a complete disappointment and I feel ripped off.
Please ignore the above mean spirited statements. I must profusely apologize. I assumed that the fish would be ready by simply thawing it. I am informed that I completely failed to understand that I had to cook the fish with carrots and onions and then let it set. I wish, however, that these instructions had been on the wrapping or an advisal to go online for cooking...
