This review comes massively late in part because I wanted to find the time to really do it justice. Caelum is an incredible artist and honestly was such a calm and positive person to work with during a busy and sometimes stressful time. I first encountered Caelum when I was looking for jewelers who do custom work in late summer of 2023. My now husband, Zach, and I were planning to get engaged within a couple of months and I couldn’t find anything that looked like what I wanted to propose back to him with. Growing up with a strong sense of my family’s Irish roots, I wanted to get Zach a clean, modern take on a claddagh - but was finding nothing. Caelum works just a couple neighborhoods over from us in Brooklyn and we connected first via email. As the two of us went back and forth, Caelum took the base ideas I had and ran with them in a way that went beyond what I thought possible. Caelum critically considered everything, tweaking along the way, and made a silver casting to make sure everything was perfect before the final ring was made in white gold. We started the process in September and Caelum had the engagement ring ready for me to propose back by mid-December (just in time for a trip we took where my husband proposed to me and I got to pop the question back later the same day.) When it came time to think about our wedding bands, we knew we wanted simple hammered bands - and with the gorgeous setting on my engagement ring, I wanted mine to complement the piece by having the wedding band fit snugly against its curves. Zach’s wedding band was pretty straightforward, but for mine, Caelum had me come in on a few occasions to trace the curve and test silver castings against and tweak until it fit just right. In the end, it looks like they came as a set with how phenomenally well they go together. Throughout the process, Caelum was flexible, communicative, helpful, calm, and honestly both funny and engaging to chat with. I’d never hesitate to have Caelum take on a meaningful project in the future given how perfect and precious the pieces we already are. We’re really lucky to wear these pieces of art everyday, and we couldn’t be more thankful for everything Caelum did. You won’t go wrong trusting Caelum with your next piece.

I cannot recommend Carolyn highly enough! I had two heirloom diamonds to turn into my engagement ring and was getting advice from everyone else to purchase another stone and make it a more traditional style, but Carolyn really saw my vision and made me feel heard. In the end, we created a bespoke piece that is my most cherished possession because we stayed true to what I envisioned for myself. Carolyn even coordinated with my partner behind the scenes to surprise me with the ring early. This beautiful ring has been on my finger for 5 years now, with the addition of an engraved gold band, and I still can’t stop staring!

Carolyn is an incredible designer, metal worker, and person!! We found Carolyn when we wanted to use some family stones and style a new ring. I sent them a few photos as examples, then we all met to see some of her preliminary designs. Carolyn really took the time to walk us through every step of the process, and we are absolutely in love with the final ring! I was thrilled with it when my fiancé proposed, and didn’t stop looking at it for at least a week. We cannot recommend working with Carolyn enough.

Carolyn was a true professional and an artist. As a person who knew nothing about engagement rings, she made the process very manageable for me. From choosing stones to final details, she was patient, supportive, and proactive. She took the time to educate me in all aspects of the ring design process. I had a very vague idea of what I wanted for my (then) future fiance, but she was able to help translate ideas from a photo to reality with ease. She also understood just how much anxiety the process can cause (everyone wants perfection!) but never faltered in her support of anything I brought to the table. I had multiple, minor, last minute changes and she accepted them without reservation. Most importantly, she helped me work within my budget. The end product was exactly what I wanted and my fiance couldn't have been happier. We both went back to Carolyn for our wedding rings and were just as happy the second time. I would recommend Carolyn to anyone looking for the finest ring design with the best support...

Carolyn was recommended by a friend to work with me to design and fabricate a set of jewelry. She was a great choice! I had many ideas and requests, but not much experience, and she navigated through my insecurities and excitement calmly and professionally, injecting expertise and a delicate design hand. After a few weeks of emails and phone calls, we came up with a beautiful design. Carolyn then worked very quickly to create our vision; and now we have excellently crafted pieces that I am continually proud of (even though Carolyn did all the work!). Having had a great experience working with Carolyn, I asked her to help out on a few small projects afterwards (including some polishing of the original pieces), and she has always been very responsive, reasonable in terms of $$, and easy to work with. Supremely glad to have connected with Carolyn and will likely work with her again...
