Dale Pro Audio — Local services in New York

I placed an order in March 2023 via their website for four Tannoy VX5.2 speakers. Then a day or so later received a call that that particular model would be months and months before it was available. So upon the recommendation of Andre I switched the speaker choice to four Tannoy VX6 as supposedly they would be available sooner because they already had 2 in stock. Also added on 4 VTH Top Hats to mount these on tripod stands. A few days go by and I receive an email saying there was some sort of inventory discrepancy so there was not in fact any of these speakers available and I'd just have to wait. And wait I did, finally at the end of July I received not 4 but 2 speakers, and when I asked where the other 2 were Andre said there was an error on their pricing sheets and in order to get my full order of 4 speakers I would have to pay the difference. Oh and wait some more. For all this hassle and trouble and mistakes and delays and inconveniences what does Andre offer? $27 off an almost $700 order. Gee thanks maybe I can Biggie Size my next McDonald's order and that'll help me forget how much of a pain in the a$$ this whole process has been.

Long story short, don't trust their website for accuracy, don't expect their inventory to be up to date, and don't count on getting any sympathy for when they try to make up for the previously mentioned issues. Credit where credit is due at least they didn't ghost me and kept in communication every time I reached out, even if the resolve has been non-existent or severely lackluster.

*Update: Both Ross and Andre reached out after seeing the above review and offered a more respectable remedy for the issues I encountered. I greatly appreciate their efforts, but ultimately wished they would have been more pro-active about it rather than requiring leaving a non-glowing review to initiate a solution that...

I never write reviews but this was by far the worst and unnecessary pro audio experience ever.

I purchased a Hedd Type 20 monitor on Amazon from Dale Pro Audio, but I received an SM58 microphone instead. I called Dale pro audio, and was transferred to Tim Brown the owner. He told me that my order was cancelled and I received the microphone by accident. My order wasn't actually canceled, and a microphone was sent so I could cancel it (maybe they weren't in good standing with amazon?). So I thought okay no problem, tough times, resend me the speaker. Tim, for whatever reason didn't want to sell the speaker on amazon and used my order to do so. He asked that I pay him through PayPal. I ended up having to pay through PayPal again, while my first order refund still hasn't posted to my bank account as I'm writing this review. he refused to re-list it on amazon prime, where I have already bought the item leaving me out of 3,000$ for one b-stock speaker, not a pair. Tim is adamant that the speaker orientation is a left, so I purchased a RIGHT from alto music (Bobby montemuro). Right speaker arrives from alto. After all that, a right speaker also arrives from Dale Pro Audio, which is what I purchased initially. I could have just ordered a left from Bobby. After the back and forth, no apologies, or show of solidarity. He sends me a return label.

I'm writing this review because I strongly believe it’s not worth it especially if you’re a serious musician. Low priced items okay, but I could not trust this company with anything expensive, not because I received a wrong item but because of the culture that exists within this company. If I'm met with such dishonesty and disregard from the owner, imagine what it's like on a regular basis. I came upon Dale Pro Audio looking for a transformer for a SPL Track One preamp. I purchased the new preamp from Sweetwater, but they said they were unable to provide the optional transformer, although they work with the same North American Distributor, Focal-Naim.

I contacted Focal Naim with a technical request during the pandemic, and they were exceptional, so I have my doubts about Sweetwater.

I found the Lundahl transformer listed online, so I contacted Dale Pro Audio to confirm the availability, and Andre Marion, their eCommerce Operations Manager, responded immediately. I was able to purchase the unit, and it arrived within a week, having been shipped from Canada. He was most courteous and friendly.
