My short stay was OKAY but NOT GREAT! 1. Firstly, when I entered the room it looked OK but lacked a few items including a working refrigerator- no connection/plugs. I called Reception and reported it. They asked me to come down to pick up the key 🔑 to an alternate room.
When I went to this new room. The first thing I observed was that there was a white pastic bag over the main light. Very VERY inconvenient! But because I was so tired ( long flight, coming from London) and also GRIVING the sudden death of my beloved brother, Anthony, (Heart Attack - whose funeral I was there to attend), I just didn't have the strength to make another report to Reception. I WAS TOO FRUSTRATED!
In the morning, while I was ironing my trousers, the iron left some black sticky substance on my garment. I REPORTED IT TO RECEPTION WHILE CHECKING OUT and the Receptionist suggested I MIGHT HAVE TURNED UP TOO HIGH. Mmmmm! Which I quickly refuted and SHOWED HER A PHOTO OF THE STICKY SUBSTANCE ON THE IRON, WHICH LEFT IRREMOVEABLE RESIDUE ON MY BRAND NEW TROUSERS. (See photos attached.)
The Receptionist I spoke with did say she was the supervisor and she apologised. She was VERY KIND. (ADDENDUM - PS: A VERY GOOD DEED I WITNESSED while I was waiting to be picked up, in the lobby. THIS LADY SUPERVISOR RESPECTFLLY CHALLENGED A CUTOMER WHO ATTEMPTED TO PAY HIS BILL WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S CREDIT CARD. So I felt prompted by The Holy Spirit to give her a copy of my book. SO, I PRESENTED THIS LADY SUPERVISOR (I FORGOT HER NAME..) A COPY OF MY FIRST BOOK - 'IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW' (It's my autobiography!) And she was DELIGHTED! She thanked me and then she showed it to her colleague. HER REACTION WAS UNDOUBTEDLY, THE BEST PART OF MY STAY AT RED ROOF PLUS!
SO, I WOULD LIKE TO BE COMPENSATED IN A MORE TANGIBLE WAY FOR ALL THE INCONVENIENCES I HAD DURING MY OVERNIGHT STAY AT RED ROOF PLUS± JAMAICA.
(Addendum: Jamaica NY....WOW! I AM ORIGINALLY FROM THE BEAUTIFUL ISLAND OF JAMAICA, WI.🇯🇲 🇬🇧)
I await your prompt reply. Regards Jane...

This hotel is unclean, disorganized, and terribly managed. When I arrived, my room wasn’t ready—and shockingly, this was the second time this happened to me. (Please watch my short video for proof.)
During my first visit, I was forced to leave in the middle of the night during summer due to unbearable conditions. On this latest visit, I faced the same issues: the room wasn’t ready, the air conditioning didn’t work, and cigarette butts were scattered everywhere.
It took hours to get a replacement room, and even that was in poor condition. While I was getting ready, hotel staff repeatedly banged on my door and shouted at me—rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional behavior.
Rather than assisting guests, the staff argue, yell, and create a stressful environment. This level of service is unacceptable and should be reported to local authorities.
The staff seem untrained and show no interest in hospitality. This hotel has no respect for guests’ time, comfort, or safety.
Save yourself the trouble—do not book this hotel. Your time, money, and peace of mind are far too valuable...
Read moreI had a very disappointing and unsafe experience at Red Roof PLUS+ Jamaica. First, although the price for a single room was around $125, I was charged $194. My initial room was on the first floor, and it was extremely noisy—I could even hear voices from the lobby and the next room. When I complained, I was moved to a room on the third floor, but I still didn’t feel safe.
There was a human trafficking warning sign on the door, which was alarming. The door lock was flimsy, unlike the nickel lock in my first room. There was no extra security lock, so I had to put a chair behind the door to feel somewhat secure.
I arrived around 1 AM because I missed my train to Watermill, but the front desk staff was indifferent and unhelpful. When I asked questions, the staff member barely responded.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel—it’s definitely not safe, and the...
