This review is way overdue! I’ve been going to Donna for the past 6 months (give or take), and every visit has been top-tier. I’ve had several Silk Presses, a Smoothing Treatment and a Leave-Out Sew-In done with her, and every time I leave the salon, my hair looks and feels amazing. I purchased the Relaxed Straight texture for my sew-in which blended seamlessly with my natural hair texture. Highly recommended. Donna’s customer service is unmatched. She’s professional, warm, and always makes sure you feel comfortable and cared for. She really takes the time to assess your hair and recommend what’s best for its long-term health. The advice and tips she gives are super helpful and easy to follow, and she genuinely wants to see your hair thrive. The salon itself is clean, peaceful, and has a relaxing vibe. It’s the kind of place you actually look forward to spending time in. You can tell she uses high-quality products that not only give you great results but also help maintain the health of your hair between visits. I’ve already recommended Donna to others. donna did her big one with my hair! i caught her while she was running the wine and weave deal on tiktok and hopped on it. from washington heights to brooklyn. this is my first time with an old school stylist and i’m spoiled now. she shampooed me with firm hands, conditioned, detangled, and blew me out. her braid down was perfect, neat and not tight at all. she listened to my needs since i have colored hair and washed me with cool water, allowed me to decide how much hair to leave out and greased my scalp. she did this perimeter braid thing in the back and and sewed my bundles in so flat, that i can put my hair up in a ponytail and there’s no leave-out in the back. AGAIN, NO LEAVE OUT IN THE BACK. i’m used to the usual stylists who care for the money and clout when their work isn’t up to standard. this experience has me wanting to work with ONLY old school stylists.

the salon is clean, organized and it’s good to see her take summer youth program interns under her wing and give back to the community. i feel like that’s something that we’re missing nowadays. i was provided with snacks and chilled wine and the conversation flowed...

I did a big chop and cut my locs off, and rocked my natural her really low with its natural color. I wanted something different, to spice up my look, so I made an appointment with Donna to get my hair colored! We tried a series of colors on my head from blue, to pink, to blonde, and they all came out just perfect. Donna is an amazing and educated stylist. I really enjoy going to her salon. The atmosphere is very chill and you can tell she loves what she does. I constantly got compliments on my color service. I would highly recommend anyone who cares about the health of their hair first to pay Alter Image Salon a visit. Also, I’m not going to forget about her amazing collection of luxury wigs that she sells. The prices are up there but it’s worth it. I invested in a Raw Curly Custom Unit for the winter months and it’s the most amazing hair that I have ever purchased. The hair is soft, voluminous and it’s able to go from curly to straight and back effortlessly. I can go on raving but you have to check them out...
