It pains me to have to write this review, but it has to be said. This WAS the closest thing to a French bakery in NYC, and it was hands down DEElicious and worth the very high price. But for whatever reason it closed almost a year ago and recently opened under new management and it is so disgusting now that it offended me. It is no longer a French bakery. It is just pastries from a kosher supermarket, and they are terrible and sold at the same exquisitely high price. All sugar. No refined taste like the old Bakerie. I didn't try to coffee, I was so offended by the pastries (after being so excited to see it open again) that I don't even want to try anything else. Read moreI used to come regullary to the Bakerie. They have excellent bread, pastries and tea, and their staff used to be really nice. Today, I went after a couple weeks and they had new workers. Everything was okay until I asked in Spanish to my boyfriend what he wanted. From then on he started to act with an attitude of "too good to take our order", avoided making eye contact and started playing like he couldn’t understand what we were ordering. Read moreI went to this Bakery to support neighbor businesses however when I went I was not greeted nor helped. Nothing was labeled and therefore lead me to many questions. The employee seemed annoyed at me asking what things were. I came with my fiance and child to get some treats but did not like the service being provided. Safe to say we walked out and went to Mia's Bakery which was out of my community but well worth the drive. It's always annoying when your treated badly...
