I've been meaning to write a review on this park for years. I've been writing honest reviews for years. No point in changing it up now.

It's an intimate size park compared to Fort Greene, Lincoln Terrace and St. John's. It's probably on the small side for a tourist, but for the neighborhood locals, we know how magical this park really is. In the summer, people play basketball here the way people play chess in Washington Square Park. The playground and fountain are always packed with kids playing and having fun on hot summer days. The lawn is always shared with dog owners, people who come to the park to read, have a picnic, workout, or just have a quick nap. There is a walking path that outlines the lawn but it does not have a bike lane. There are park benches surrounding the lawn and throughout the park. In the summer there are a bunch of activities held there like basketball tournaments, free movie nights and sponsored events. I don't know about the adults but the dogs and the kids LOVE this park! How much, you ask? Every day there are children and dogs that cry about leaving and fall on the ground as an active sign of protest. They have to be dragged or carried out. This happens every day. 😀 There is a skate park, bathrooms, a composting area and a citi bike rental location of right outside the park. Pretty much has everything right!?

Now let's get down to the bad stuff. There are times where people don't clean up after themselves and there are food and trash left all over the park. The same goes for dog owners who think a magic poop fairy picks up after them. The people are worse at leaving the park dirtier than the dog owners. There have been a few shootings at this park location. But before you count this park out for that I challenge you to find a New York park that hasn't. The bathrooms need to be renovated and a couple of lights need to be replaced, but that's about it.

During the winter, not a lot of people visit the park so it belongs to awesome dog parents who endure freezing temperatures just to make sure their dog has play time. On a good snow day the kids show up and bring sleds. You'll also find a couple of snowmen around the park then too. To make the long story short (too late) it's a great park! You're probably going to throw a tantrum when it's time to leave. I've seen it...

In a area with plenty of things to do and very busy Brower Park in Brooklyn is very relaxing place to sit and enjoy a little quiet. Brower Park is the place for you if you want to escape the hustle and bustle. It's surrounded by interesting buildings. It has 2 basketball courts a kids playground and public bathrooms that need a little bit of improvement in my honest opinion. The rest of the park is not too. It's small with a grassy area in the middle. In the mornings bring their dogs to play before nine and turn it in an unofficial official dog run bc there are no dog runs in the area. In the a summer it's a very frequented park right next door to the Brooklyn Children's Museum and Bower Park Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. If you don't know the area you can say you found a hidden gem. To locals it's a beloved and very frequented park also with a lot of shade for hot sunny days. An oasis or refuge from the noise in the middle of a historic Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I would highly recommend going...

I’ve come to the park a few times to practice pickleball. To be clear, there is no actual court there as of August 2024, but I go into the handball court which is usually empty. The park is mostly clean. You’ll hear several speaks going on with different music, but as long as that doesn’t bother you, it’s a fine time. There is plenty of seating. There’s a skatepark too which is typically untouched. I’ve seen many dogs off leash, not sure if there are certain hours for it, but they’re definitely around. In my opinion the best kept area of the park are the basketball courts - which are always being used unlike the skatepark. There is also a playground, that is typically shared by men working out and kids running around. Overall though, the park is a nice space that is mostly well maintained and offers things for all types of people...

I enjoy this park.Clean. Alot of diverse people. Can be crowded at times. They have a basketball court, you can see kids ride there skateboard and do personal workouts at this court. In the center of the park is a nice grass area where people enjoy tanning, reading and meditation. In that same area, doggy parents will come and have some off leash play.Dont forget to buy puppy churlish from Lonnie and his dog Bella. They have bathrooms. Lots of benches. A gated park for toddlers. During the summer they have a small area for the water sprinklers. Alongside with another park entry where kids actually ride there skateboards.Teenagers and Adults can be knuckle heads and cause trouble so randomly cops will always be in patrol for everyone's safety. Park does hold events.

I love Brower Park because it is small but has a children playground, a basketball court, a lawn, many benches, public restrooms, and public programming such as outdoor movie screenings in summer. It's next to the Brooklyn Children's Museum and a small, fully renovated public library. It's a place that is both lively and relaxing. Also, it's a very mixed crowd with young kids, teens, and adults, from all origins, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds. Orthodox Jewish and Afro-Caribbean kids and teens playing together - isn't that wonderful and inspiring? I just wish the lawn was better maintained because its central section tends to dry out in summer.
