I was a lucky early walker to Andrew's small group tour beginning in Washington Square Park. I am a resident of New York City, 23 years, and already can attest to being a little bit of a tour guide to my many out-of-town guests. Andrew's tour introduced me to many new factoids to lodge in my noggin. I've been on many eye-rolling tours that droned on "look at Carrie Bradshaw's stoop", "The 'Friends' apartment and cafe would be located here, if it were real". Andrew's tour started off with many geographical reasons why Washington Square Park is Washington Square Park, what we really were standing upon, added along with the many historical sites nearby, both in America's early colonial days, revolution, industrial, past artist's and writers, and connecting much of that to our musical history into modern day. Each stop connected a prior stop, and when we finally came full circle near Washington Square Park at the end of our tour, we made a full circle in our wandering minds. Andrew provided plenty of rest stops opportunities, knows where the best bathrooms are, and a nice spot or two for a sip or nibble if requested. Bring your best walking shoes, as you will cover a lot of ground, though Andrew will adjust his pace to yours. If you wish to stand in line for a cupcake that the fictional Carrie sampled, you may wish to skip this tour. If you want to be amazed at how intricately intertwined New York arts, architecture, politics, music and it's denizens are, this is your tour. I would definitely do this again, and this time take...

All were interesting, revealing, fun and entertaining. At the end of the tour, I felt I just finished reading a book or completed a course chronicling the gems of the Village. I would give this class an A+! The tour was engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining and kept me fascinated at each...
