Ugghh... Hate dragging myself on the MTA 76, 74 or 51 either to the ferry to get to Manhattan or riding the beloved Staten Island ferry from Whitehall to return to our beautiful, lush oasis aka Richmond County. The restaurants within the St. George Ferry Terminal are as transient as the commuters.. there one minute, gone the next. The Dairy Queen has been closed for renovations for over a year with no work started or a sign of life seen. The Newsstand with Starbucks coffee offered closed shop before Thanksgiving and packed up their inventory late night (2:00-5:00am) leaving no evidence of their presence and a sign offering leasing inquiry inquiries being available now sits on the same doors homeless residents now lean on while migrants wander around the terminal aimlessly. Au Bon Pain left all of their equipment in place and is now closed. I now have to find another place when I want a $10 lukewarm, burnt cup of coffee with a chance of a dollop of sour cream ( I prefer half and half) good old , old warm milk, or everyones favorite, soy milk. I especially will miss the care free, I could care less attitude given by the unprofessional behemoth location manager who was always in the back eating, I mean baking pastries and her trusted sidekick, gargoyle the assistant manager, who was more interested in policing the coffee bandits who tried to liberate coffee on a daily basis, running for the terminal like Mexican migrants running for the Rio Grande. Maybe the homeless people who were panhandling outside the cafe negatively affected the business to the point that no notice was given. I blame it on Mayor Adams.

Other than that, St George Ferry Terminal is a semi clean transit hub for the free Staten Island Ferry that serves as a daily commute for residents of Staten Island and Manhattan to and from work along with the 1000's and 1000's of daily visitors who walk incredibly slow when boarding or unloading the damn ferry, making me and other locals miss our connecting busses or subways.

I have an idea, Mayor Adams. Give all New York City residents free transportation on the subways, busses (Local and SBS- free . Express Busses stay fare base) the Staten Island Ferry and WaterTaxi and NYC ferry services become free for residents. This would increase ridership throughout the city year round. Congestion pricing may, as a result, become not necessary

Make all tourists and non NYC residents pay for travel on all mass-transit options. Increase the fares nominally to ease transition to the new...

Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Pros- It's clean, various places to eat or lounge. Some what pricey for certain food, Au Bon Pain, good coffee various pastries and sandwiches. Subways , S. I. Railway and MTa bus connections, Empire Outlets Mall, great shopping for tourist, lovely views from certain outside spots, much parking spots as well, baseball stadium where the S.I Ferryhawks play, Post Office, taxi, passer pick up, etc. Cons-Homeless frequent there as well, seeking shelter from the cold, panhandling always, sleeping on benches, Security and police try their best to maintain order under difficult situations there. It a serious problem surrounded by the good being done and not recognize but by a few who appreciate there efforts to control an almost impossible crisis. Other than that. I Frequent this transportation and the overall effort being made to better it. Thanks, everyone who gives the Police, Security, Workers, Laborers, etc for all you do and your continued service, It's appreciated by many who feel safe traveling, by tourists and all who in this borough. Staten Island. Again, Thank...

You will encounter the best most intrecate security team in New York City. I will not tell you why or for what reason. But be advised acting up at this location wouldn't be wise. If you haven't been to this location I suggest you to Wear a light jacket this terminal has the best central Air system I have ever seen in my entire life. The benches here can also get very cold and on a late night you might want to A bring a bagel or B have some spare change because this location is known to house the homeless during the midnight hours. There are many choices in the food Court during regular business hours. You can find a gift store and Donut shop off some variety, as well as a few other eataries adjacent to the entrance to the subway the exit to the street and bus Depot For The whole of the Island. The terminal features some intricate Floor Designs at one point this location housed a beautiful assortment of fish alone side...

Wonderful ferry ride. Staff were polite and helpful. It’s better come early to avoid long queues. Overall worth it.

The Staten Island Ferry ride is a hit or miss experience. The crew is mostly friendly but that’s hit or miss. This boat is a well oiled machine, 0.5 seconds late for the boat departure and you might get a terminal door slammed in your face. They’ll separate even families. However, if you’re on time it’s on time. It’s reliable except for the two times it crashed, and because of that it always feels like it’s crashing again when it’s docking. It’s a great free ride by the Statue of Liberty. The views inside and outside of the boat are usually a photographers playground. Don’t use the bathrooms if you’re a germaphobe. Do get hotdogs and popcorn from the concession if you’re looking for the tourist or desperately hungry New Yorker experience. Bout a half hour each way, and it’s FREE, have fun!
