This review is for the Journey to the East Winter Lantern Festival.

The lanterns were super cool to see up close, especially the more fantastical ones. I loved learning more about Chinese mythology and ogling at how the lights brought these creatures dramatically to life. Yes, I was that guy holding up the line.

I do wish that the grounds was better laid out. It just seemed thematically haphazard. For example, not sure why one of the four cardinal guardians was separated from the other three. Also, parts of the designated path were needlessly restrictive. There was no reason for me to nudge 5 year-old Jesse out of the way just to get my shot. Okay, that didn’t happen, but I do think there was a missed opportunity here to make the place more festive and promote more learning and fun.

Because seriously, some of these lanterns are impressive. I’ll let the pics speak for themselves. Personal favs: the Fuzhu (deer with four horns), the Vermillion (fire) Bird, and Wen Yao (winged...

I went to my 1st game with my wife on Memorial Day weekend.

I recommend coming to a game for many reasons now!

The kids will love it. Especially running the bases when the game is done. It could be one of the most entertaining things.

Food is better now and the staff is new and friendly.

This is really a great place to sit and enjoy the best view of the city while having a beer and enjoying the cool breeze.

Sure it's a new team, but it's in a much more competitive league.

A woman also plays for them as well, Kristie Wentworth, and the kids LOVE seeing that.

Personally I like the logo a lot more than I did so I bought a jersey and it wasn't too expensive.

This is a great thing to come check out if you're on your way home from work or if you got a free night coming down to the ballpark and...

My experience at this ballpark was absolutely horrendous. This is not an exaggeration. The lines at the concessions were absolutely terrible. People I sat with couldn't enjoy the game until the 6th inning because they were on line waiting for food all that time. They ran out of so many items and even the vending machines ran out of items. The staff were so unapologetic and very rude that people actually took issue with them running out of food. It's like they absolutely could not accommodate a near capacity crowd. And I do mean near capacity as the ballpark was not full at all. I really do hope that things improve drastically. I'm sorry to have written a...

Went for the journey to the east illuminated walk thru exhibit which runs from October to January. Paid $30 per adult children under 3 are free. The exhibit it's self was pretty cool which took less than an hour to walk through. Found street parking about .5 miles away on a side street by post office. The whole exhibit was about Chinese mythology along with a one man band who also did magic shows. Recommend for all ages. Exhibit was set up on the baseball field of ferryhawls Staten Island university. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. Not overly crowded

May 27, 2023 Pride Day-permitted to walk on the infield during performances. Difficult to slide into home on artificial turf. Nice place to get fresh air & walk around...and watch baseball. May 11, 2022 Scoreboard did not show balls & strikes. $15 for a ticket...Ferry Hawks don't care if not many people attend..they love to play even if noone is watching. Bring a jacket--It gets cooler at night because it's near the water. No comment on concessions. Just go & get fresh air & exercise. Walk up & down the steps.
