I've been disappointed since moving to the area that Good & Natural is my only local option for certain items. This store has been incompetently managed for years, and today was the last straw in terms of not spending another dollar here even if I have to go out of my way.
Some background: Everything in the store is wildly overpriced. Basic customer service is not a thing here; cashiers have no idea how to keep their lines moving, often stepping away from their registers to help customers on the floor or answer phone calls, so long lines build up and don't move. Management shrugs off complaints about the long waits and are paranoid about theft; I replied to a text message and put my phone back in my jacket pocket, and a manager accosted me, accusing me of stealing a bar of soap. When I showed him my phone and iPod in my pockets, noting that either could be mistaken for a bar of soap, instead of apologizing he replied, "I know what I saw."
Today, an elderly couple came into Good & Natural with a shopping cart; an employee told them they had to leave the cart up front and use a store cart, and the man made a comment about the store replacing their cart if it got stolen. This somehow escalated rapidly into a store employee using profanity and threatening to "break his f---ing face."
I'm glad this encounter didn't escalate into actual violence, and I'm glad my young daughter wasn't in the store with me when the Good & Natural employee started using profanity and making violent threats. After I finished paying for my stuff I told the manager that everything that just happened was incredibly poor management, and he told me the couple with the cart are thieves. To me, it's just an illustration of the complete lack of decent management and customer service at Good & Natural to see an employee use violent, profane threats against a customer. I strongly recommend against shopping here, especially...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBe aware, there's a lady who is a cashier here that I suspect is stealing credit card information; on April 17th I was sandwiched online by 2 black women, I was suspicious right away by the actions of all 3 of these women (one of which who must have a card reader). I no sooner get home and had a text alert on my phone asking me if I had charged something from Walmart. I go to the bank's website and there were 2 more charges from DSW Shoe Warehouse. I have to say I use to LOVE this store until I had a few questionable things happen. They're also a lawsuit waiting to happen, the careless people that stock their shelves put a box right behind where I was shopping and I almost fell; I wrenched my back. I will follow-up with the useless 49th Precinct, I'm sick of them not doing their damn jobs too. Our neighborhood nickname for this store is Good -N-Expensive; they do have a lot of hard to find things, however, identity theft is a very high price to pay. Avoid these skells at all cost. WE NEED A TRADER JOE'S! We had thousands of people sign a petition but ex-Sen. Jeff Klein and his staffer (at the time), John Doyle shot it down. Why!? Guess Jeff has/d skin in the game; then Jeff wondered why we voted him out and Doyle actually thought we'd let him occupy a Assembly Seat in Albany. SMH I guess the Old Boys Network that have been running our neighborhood into the ground will have none of that; do you really think Trader Joe's will pay them protection money, or the 49th their tax? I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid visiting this store. The establishment tends to be quite busy, and while seeking product recommendations can be helpful, my recent visit was disappointing. When I was pregnant, I used to come here for prenatal vitamins, and I had a generally positive experience. However, today I visited with my baby to buy some probiotics. When I asked the pharmacist for help, he was busy talking to another customer. It seemed like he didnāt want to assist me because their conversation was taking a long time. Even worse, the other customer did not end up buying anything he recommended. When I finally asked the pharmacist which probiotics he would suggest, the Jarrow brand. However, there were two types, and he wouldnāt explain the difference. He just told me to go for the 5 billion CFU. It was frustrating because I wanted to understand more about the products. It felt like he didnāt care about my questions or needs, and I noticed that he treated me differently. Itās 2025, and itās disappointing to see that some people still hold onto outdated ideas about race. If someone doesnāt like people of color, they really shouldnāt work any customer services job. I believe that everyone deserves good service and respect, regardless of their background. Itās sad to think that some supposedly educated people lack basic understanding...
