I rarely write every write any reviews no less a negative one however, I feel COMPELLED to write one here to deter EVEN ONE PERSON from incurring the headache that Green Apron kitchen is! Recently a gift certificate was given to a friend; who is currently pregnant. This friend tried to use the gift certificate; however is unable to do so.
Being excited for this gift, as an existing customer, this friend right away called Green Apron and tried to use this certificate toward the “camp”. Green Apron Kitchen refused! They stating this certificate only applies to “classes”. This friend explained the situation…….that we currently do not use classes for conflicting schedules, we are currently happy customers and WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE SO, the certificate is already paid for, it was given as a gift, and she is currently pregnant so cannot change around schedules……..and asked the company to meet her HALF way. Meaning use half the certificate toward current services and the other half toward classes at a later time; and they REFUSED!
They should be ASHAMED of themselves to say no!!! I hope people do think twice about working with such an...
Read moreSent 6 kids to Green Apron’s lunar year cooking camp. Menu sounded promising. Kids appreciated learning how to put food together, but upon hearing their feedback, there was not much “cooking” to be done. They cracked eggs but never got to cook it. Fortune cookie tasted good but dumplings had eggs and cheese in it- that is odd for Asian cooking. Sounds more like an empanada to me. Lo mein part of menu was good.
Unfortunately all my children said the lead teacher did not have the best attitude and was rather rude at times. There were some smaller kids in the class that created some mess and the older kids (my kids) were seemingly faulted with clean up. Per my children the comments made towards them were sarcastic and impolite. I would imagine the teacher would exercise more patience with students, as this is a school, right? But guess not. Facilities were ok, not very modern. I admit I was not there to witness but I have full trust in my children to tell me what happened. Sorry but we will not be returning. 2 stars for the food part...
Read moreBuyer beware! This woman does not know how to run a business or handle customer service. I signed my child up for one day cooking camp with the expectation of hands on experience. My son has extensive experience cooking through school programs but lo and behold he came home disappointed saying the majority of the day was spent playing games. 22 kids present and aside from some minor assistance there was no actual cooking taking place. When I spoke to the owner over the phone she was incredibly defensive, did not want to hear me out, and tried to deny what my son said. She then tripped herself up when she claimed the teachers are not allowed to touch the food kids eat but my son had a grilled chicken sandwich so I expect then he must have learned some pretty gnarly knifing skills. Once I pointed that out she became even more defensive. All the negative reviews are true. Stay away and...
